Had to laugh after the Polec interview, Barett goes on to say nobody knows how it got to this stage...... really? plenty of people on BF know, it hardly a secret, so I gather he's licking his lips to stitch up Port for a while longer yet. How's Gaff going for you Damien?

I am Chad Wingard's llama

Best case it’s the kick up the backside that was needed and Chad has a stellar year.

I am still holding out for a reprieve for Wingard. Personally I'd prefer him to stay.

I know what I was like as a 25yo and while I wouldn't have admitted it at the time, I didn’t akways react the best way when being given some home truths.

  • There is no evidence that medical staff ignored him.
  • He would not be the first person to confuse a cramp with a strain.
  • He actually didn't play the next week.
  • There is every evidence they ignored him. They told him it was only cramp, and he argued with them ... he then sat on the bench on his own for the next 13 minutes! That's an eternity if you have a hammy. No players come up and consoled him over his injury, and after the first consultation, the med staff dont go near him until finally at the 5:29 mark, someone applies some placebo ice. The boy has form!
  • An experienced player absolutely knows he has a hammy, and can even tell the seriousness of it at the time it happens
  • You are correct. Absolutely no mention is made of Wingards "hammy" outside of the club, or to the media. At selection the following week, mention is made that Chad is fit to play, but will be held over for the next game, giving him an extra week. Internally the story is very different!

I'm not sure why people read so much into this.
People with closed minds wont want to. Taken in isolation this might just be viewed as an "odd" incident, however if you listen to the commentary, even the commentators mention he has form.

How many members of Chad's family are on this board? I've never seen a player get defended so aggressively for effectively walking out on the club. There is a element of push coming from the club no doubt, but if he just owned some of his wrongdoing in this and took all advice on board (Hartlett 2016) we wouldn't be where we are.
Not related to Chad, but it mostly looks like he's been pushed. But I guess we'll never know with a high level of certainty.

Get absolutely ****ed Hawthorn.

They should have to throw in Tom Mitchell on top of Burton and #15 to even out all the bending over they've been doing this trade week.

I honestly don’t know how people put up with 25 year old me.

It makes sense if we planned on using our 2nd but not our 3rd.

It also makes more sense when you realise that the point system under rates top picks

It also makes more sense when you realise how much those 2nd and 3rd rounders will get pushed back .

Depends on the selection. If we nail the pick then you could argue an underrating, but if we don’t then the high pick becomes well overrated from a points perspective. Regardless the points are so far in Freo’s favour on this one that it’s not even worth splitting hairs over.

This is reportedly a deep draft so we’ve given up the chance to select some good players in order to do this no matter how you look at it.

None of these people know what is going on but they need to fill space. It's like what we're doing here.

I'd say we're more on the pulse though.

Hawks getting 2 freebies has to be good for us if not we have had a shocker.

So Hawks gave away 2019 3rd Rd for Jack Scrimshaw and got back a 2019 4th Rd.

That means the Hawks can't trade their 2019 1st Round for Chad or any other trade.

So its
1. 15+Burton, or
2. 15+Burton+something else, or
3. Burton+something else via a side deal that Hawks use 15 and other picks with a 3rd/4th club or
4. No deal

5. 15+Burton with something being sent back in addition to Wingard

Just wait for it.
