So Hawks gave away 2019 3rd Rd for Jack Scrimshaw and got back a 2019 4th Rd.

That means the Hawks can't trade their 2019 1st Round for Chad or any other trade.

So its
1. 15+Burton, or
2. 15+Burton+something else, or
3. Burton+something else via a side deal that Hawks use 15 and other picks with a 3rd/4th club or
4. No deal
Even though it has been explicitly clarified anywhere, people have been saying if the Hawks get a future third back, they can then trade their future first again

Hawthorn have recruited well, must be one of the faves next year.
Wingard would make them favourites!
This means they will pay a lot more then they are letting on. We cannot cave here.

I would still prefer Burton and 15 than two firsts anyway though. Hawthorn could easily only end up with pick 15, or even lower again next year. Unless we're planning to use it for bargaining power to move up again in the draft.

What’s stopping us from sending them one of our future picks? Or the picks we get from any other trades that may happen (e.g. Amon, Hombsch)?

Don’t get me wrong I wish something would.
I know we're dumb, but surely we're not dumb enough to reject a trade offer only to end up accepting lower

I honestly don’t know how people put up with 25 year old me.

It was the raw sexual energy and animal magnetism, I'd imagine.

Same with me except the 'd' was at the end of the word 'imagine'.

How many members of Chad's family are on this board? I've never seen a player get defended so aggressively for effectively walking out on the club. There is a element of push coming from the club no doubt, but if he just owned some of his wrongdoing in this and took all advice on board (Hartlett 2016) we wouldn't be where we are.

I'd say few if any. No one is crying a river for him. Just stating the obvious that this is a failure of the club. There are a lot of highly paid people. If your no 1 or 2 player in his prime wants to leave and you don't control it , its failure.

Explain to me why this needed to happen now and not a month ago? if it is irrepairable and broken, why did they not address this a month ago instead of at a time that the CEO is not even at the club and with so few days of trading.....AFTER we had moved out Polec and given away 11, 13, 23 and another pick?

This is proof of THEIR incompetence

Chads job is to play football. Their job is to manage the players and the club

Duryea traded for a future 4th rounder. Another piece of the puzzle :p

Circle of life. 3 different trades

1. Scrimshaw + 2019 GC 4th Rd to Hawks -----> GC get 2019 Haw 3rd Rd
2. 2019 WB 4th Rd pick to Hawks ---------------> WB get Taylor Duryea
3. Tom Scully to Hawks ------------------> GWS get 2019 GC 4th Rd Hawks got in Scrimshaw trade

So Hawks - IN: Scrimshaw + Scully + WB 2019 4th Rd -----> OUT: Duryea + 2019 3rd Rd pick

So they can load up for Chad as far as I'm concerned if they want him.

5. 15+Burton with something being sent back in addition to Wingard

Just wait for it.
Haha I was trying to be positive and didnt even ponder that.

FMD, if we do this its time to get Bob Marley's Exodus out.

Get absolutely ****** Hawthorn.

They should have to throw in Tom Mitchell on top of Burton and #15 to even out all the bending over they've been doing this trade week.
I don't get it why do the clubs all the way up to Gill feel the need to cup Hawthorns balls all the time ?!

A reasonably unreliable source told me on Monday that the Beams deal had been finalised. Boys town wanted to delay the trade so that it could be announced in the last three hours to drum up interest. I thought he was stretching the truth.
A local recruiter said the same thing to me today. He said he wouldn't be surprised the AFL are holding back the announcement of several deals so that they land just in time for prime time TV tomorrow.

Poke money has a way of creating influence.

As has been said the future 3rd locks out their future 1st but not other future picks ie the future 2nd round

Or they get a future 3rd back think they can then trade their future 1st.
