Man, it's not my call/doing.

I don't want to be quoted a million times and slaughtered for this but there really are other factors involved if he's traded. I'm certainly no club/Ken apologist as I wanted him gone too, but the calls of the club choosing Ken over Chad are outrageous.

This.

Though the board is one step away from "ken is literally hitler", lol.

Gold Coast don't need a lot of picks. They need quality, not quantity. They have little need to trade down with us.

Would lol if we traded out Wingard and it caused Mead and Burgoyne to turn down being F/S's and choose to be drafted normally.

Or maybe Tex Wanganeen chose Essendon, Essendon are super into him have been doing the work for years, thats what id be more worried about.

Someone said Wingard is his Favourite player, by the time he is drafted we wont Have Wingard(???) Polec, Gray, Westhoff, Ryder, Boak. With Dixon, Jonas, Hartlett, Ebo, Motlop and Rockliff are on their last legs. Essendon Likley right in contention looking at their list composition.

Really respect your opinion and input generally but realistically even picks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 couldn't make up for this cluster****.

We are literally trading out a two proven, local talents in their prime for unproven prospective local talents. It's absolute madness.

To an outside observer it looks like we are aiming for our next “window” to be 2025-2030.

We won’t win it without Polec and Wingard before our 30+ group retire, so perhaps the next “group” is to be the 23 and unders being led by Wines, Marshall, Houston, Pepper, Howard, Clurey, Hayes, Atley, Farrell etc.

Of course this contradicts what Chris Davies said about being competitive every year, but I can’t think of a better explanation for selling the farm for a few picks.

Wingard being traded out is the club giving up and going for a major rebuild.

Therein lies the problem. Maybe there are other factors but likely the club’s POV will never be revealed so the supporter base at large will just feel Chad has been totally mismanaged and is the victim in this and the outrage will be unprecedented.

If there’s really other factors behind any trade of chad I sure as hell hope we are made aware by the club and not spoken to in riddles.

At the moment I’m trying to make sense of things. We are playing average footy but winning, Ollie signs on long term, there’s a feel things are turning, and since that point I don’t think I could write a worse script for the club.

I feel sick thinking of waking up tomorrow morning to my phone notifications saying done deal re:Wingard trade
The other thing that worries me is that if we start done this path it’s not such a big leap to wake up one morning to Robbie Gray being traded to chase a premiership.

Oh yeah, I don't think its a Ken v Chad thing at all.

This whole thing comes down to whether we can have any faith in the decision makers at the club and I'm just reluctant to take any positives out of this current situation and let the club off the hook. They've been softening us up for this for a weeks.

But hopefully we look back in 5 years time and these decisions have set us up for a period of sustained success.

I've just removed my credit card details from my 3 memberships. At least I would like to fantasise about the idea of not renewing if Wingard is traded.

I’ve cancelled my auto renew an emailed the club to work out how to cancel my premiership fund pledge. I’ll still renew, but don’t like the idea of the club thinking they aren’t accountable, and I’m not pumping extra funds at them again until they can show me they have their shit together.

Its a blatent admission theyve ****** their chance for a flag. They know Hinkley cant coach and want to distract us...

Look at our shiny new toys, Luksouis is the next Nick Riewoldt and Rankine will be better then McLoud..... All whilst hoping we don't notice they ****** our list, and missed our window.

This is major rebuild territory, they just hope we wont notice.
No guarrentees we land these potentials either.

If he goes on to be an elite player somewhere else then yeah, we stuffed up. I'd assume most people would expect that he does.
