Are we to assume no other club with a top pick hasnt asked about wingard?

If you were another club what would you pay...this season. I'd pay 3. And with that I expect wingard > whoever goes 1 or 2 as well. Infact it's just ridiculous other clubs aren't rolling a mat out for him.

Nothing makes sense

I think he will stay because the trade will not get done. They will not be able to offer us a high enough pick.

Then we back in our new coaching department to turn it around. It's happened before. And it will happen again.

Agree. This is what will happen. I'm banking on Schofield being our knight.

Let’s hope so, but I can’t see why Burton’s agreed to a deal if it isn’t a very high chance of getting done.

We'll buckle, don't worry about that. I reckon we'd still deal on this if Hawthorn offered nothing but pick 15.

Disagree. We know we have already ****ed this one up enough. Can't afford the public backlash of another. I think they will sit on 6 and 10. Hawks know they have an aging list that won't be as good in 2020

Ultimately PAFC answers to it's members, without them the club would not exist.
Wingard is our best creative player under 30,he's our number 1 draw card,he brings new members and fans to the club.
If PAFC trade him to Hawthorn, they have failed it's members in a massive way.
Anyone involved in that decision should be out the door.
Even worse we will be helping Hawthorn become a superpower,I am staggered by such idiocy.

He won't stay, Port seem to have made their decision and will just settle if Hawthorn don't offer anything else

The ultimate call is still Chad's. He is contracted. As is Burton, really.
So we potentially have a
yes - no, or yes - yes, or no -yes situation.

Could be a bit like the 1996 Melbourne v Hawks merger. One said yes and then at the last minute the other said no after giving every indication they would vote yes.

It's both club and player. A contract goes both ways

Nope. The power is all with Chad. We would have to pay out the next year of his contract if we were to nullify it and move him without his consent.

Why would we void it? He is contracted. If the club wants him to stay he stays. It's not just up to Chad at all.

You cannot move a player who is currently contracted to your club without the players consent. AFL rules.
