Bond said precisely nothing on 6PR. Expect MJ to be fit, no word yet on Harley.
Other than that he mouthed platitudes and they let him get away with it.
When asked about Langdon etc coming in and freshening up the side he said a bunch of stuff that had nothing to do with the question and they didn't follow it up. Politics 101. Same with the question about not scoring enough.
Really lame interview. At least with Ross he gives you something.

What did he say exactly about Bennell?

So 6pr get "indefintely" out of that?

You know how versions of software work?

It starts at 1.0 then a minor tweak to software would make it an update to 1.01. Several minor changes would take that to 1.10, then obviously a major change shifts it to 2.0. Etc etc.

I think we have just gone to a 2.0 gameplan update. Not that I'm excusing the guys at all for what they dished up yesterday, however if you couple the effort they presented with the change of software then you would get the abberration we all saw yesterday.

I'm not sure we can expect to blow GC out of the park next week even if maximum effort is there.. the guys are ironing out the bugs in the new major software update as well.

Well the last time we were that ugly was probably around that Lions game just after Lyon started so even though I don't think that's whats happening, here's hoping.

I listened to Bond as well and thought nothing of the Bennell comment as he did his calf only a week ago and assume they're still working through it. I'm a little lost as to how it's jumped from that to him being on two strikes across multiple threads including a WC supporter explaining he's done a hammy which might require an operation that'd keep him out for 12 weeks...wtf?

We are all a little melted at the moment.

After 2 days of being down, I decided to watch a reply of the Brownlow last year and have now cheered up immensely...........as Ross says 'It's never as good as its seems and never as bad as it seems'....

We should have some handy ins this week, hopefully

Sandi
Johnno
Pearce
Langdon

Out:
Zarke(inj)
Clancee
Mz
Mayne or D Pearce(doubt either of these will happen)

Wouldn't be against another young player like Blakely or Tucker coming in but can't see us making more than 4 changes.

Also a bit worried about Fyfe getting up, but don't want to contemplate the thought of him being injured atm

Wow, just saw the Tom Lynch 'spoil' which he got let off for.
If that was rugby league he'd have a 4 week holiday - but swinging arms to the face are fine in Afl if the ball is nearby.
Bugger me sideways, here I was thinking the Afl cared about contact to the head :drunk::drunk:

Should.

It's the Eagles who will absolutely bake us some new brownies. Here's hoping hawthorn have half a fit team to beat the shite out of them

Hopefully by the end of the season our final 22 (of course discarding any injury) will look something like this:
plE1io0tp

Obviously guys like Bennell and Mora can't be selected in this side at the moment due to injury but come the pointy end of the season I think this is a solid lineup, a good mixture of youth, experience, and versatility. I have Mayne in because we literally have no one else who can play forward at this point. Maybe Yarran or Apeness can replace him if they get their shot throughout the season. Also no spots are fixed positions.
The changes against the Bulldogs are:

IN: Johnson, Morabito, Sandilands, Bennell, A. Pearce.
OUT: Suban, Mzungu, Clarke, Griffin, C. Pearce.

I guess for this week I would ignore Bennell and Mora as ins, so ignore Suban and Griffin as outs. I think this season we need to focus more on pace, I think going with just one 'pure' ruckman along with players chopping out such as A. Pearce, Fyfe, Taberner, Dawson, is the way to go.
But hey I'm no match committee, what the hell do I know.

I'd like to see 4-6 changes this week.

Out: Clarke, Clancee, Suban, Taberner and possibly Mzungu and Spurr
In: Sandilands, Johnson, Langdon, A.Pearce and possibly Blakely and Tucker

Our 22 becomes:

FB: Tucker (Spurr) Dawson Ibbotson
HB: Hill, Johnson, Sheridan
C: Langdon, Mundy, D.Pearce
HF: Mayne A.Pearce Walters
FF: Ballantyne Pavlich, Griffin
R: Sandilands, Fyfe Neale

Sutcliffe, Blakely (Mzungu), Barlow, Weller

Changes for freo after round one.Ross Lyon has quoted it's a marathon and not a sprint. This is true it has been only one round and there is still 21 rounds to go however he relies on the same old 22 players every week. The afl isn't a tortoise it's a hare a fast pace game these days. Every team that has elite quick players will run rings around us. Introduce some quicker players into the team or a team like Gold Coast with quick young players will give us another hiding.

Ins: sandilands
Langdon
Johnson
Pearce
Deboar
Bennell (if fit)

Out: clarke
Griffen
Mayne
A couple of snails

I know drafting is a whole different subject but Other than tucker and someone like yarren. There isn't much more hare type quicker players to choose from :( everyone was yelling for Key position players but its the team that needs speed. A midfield consisting of Neale,Barlow, mundy, fyfe is elite but not elite speed to match other teams

Yeah...that Peel game gives us a taste, then it's up in smoke...
Palmer blows a knee, Mora three, Barlow snaps his leg robbing us of his best years...Pitt, Simpson...

Swear we're ******* cursed

Not to mention all of the AFL hatred that meant that we started with zero concessions by comparison with the new expansion teams.

We have been treated as the ugly red headed step son from day one!

Good analogy :)....
Should we be doing a full systems restore or try to boot the last known good configuration that worked?
Or, are we still running XP, while everyone else has stepped up to windows 10? Maybe we actually dont have the hardware to effectively run windows 10?... not enough RAM! I guess the good thing is that we should get some ram back this week. Both Sandi and Johnno are worth about 2 Gig ;)
I think on the weekend, we didnt really get a chance to see if the systems upgrade actually works or not. We saw it freeze and crash, but we still have time to tweak the hard drive and optimize our RAM capabilities. If we ultimately find we dont have enough capabilities to run a full windows 10 like others, then we tweak our existing version.....Or try Linux ;)!!
