This morning Tabs and Alex both played forward in different teams. Alex performed better and is the long term better prospect . That should be the end of the story.

I agree with you but then leave him in wafl till he's smashing the door down, it's a bit tough on his confidence going up and down, I've always thought Alex offers a lot more.

It's not though, because we've still gone in with 1 tall forward too few. There will be no resting ruck for the opposition to match up on, so Pav will still be getting double teamed. Welcome to 2013 all over again.

Pearce plus Pav makes 2 tall forwards . Pearce in,Tabs out .Simple equation really.

People want us to transition to a more free running and less stoppage dependant game, then complain when we only play one ruck despite the other guy not offering much, other teams only playing the one, and our guy being better? At least try to melt consistently.

This. Alex offers much more than Taberner long-term.

I'd be willing to see Alex experiment in forward or defence (but never in the same match) until we see what Apeness can do and/or the cautiously optimistic coup of McCarthy.

He needs to be the best forward in the AFL which unless there is a miracle he will never be. Pearce on the other hand................:thumbsu:
Agree with a.Pearce is better option, disagree with the way how your treatment to Tab, ask him to go back to peel and play a bit of ruck and wing since he got endurance and improve his chanse and tackle.

Happy with the direction of these changes - A. Pearce simply has to play forward though otherwise we're terribly exposed.

Would have liked to see C. Pearce, Mayne and Suban given a good long stint in the WAFL but we were never going to have 7 changes.

Great team changes!

One ruck makes sense. Alex Pearce can pinch hit up forward if Sandi isnt up there. Down back Dawson can body a ruck too.

Sandi is looking in good nick though, i dare say he'll be covering well. Also good to see Langdon get a run, hope Weller and Langdon bring their Peel chemistry to the game.

Like most I like the changes, tough on Tabs but if that is how they trained (i.e. AP better) than that is what you get. Tabs will come in to replace Pav in other games so will get more chances.

I called the one ruck change, despite how much Lyon has liked two rucks, the game is moving away from that:

"Clarke/Griffin - TBH I think we seriously need to consider if we should be playing TWO genuine rucks. Would be just as happy with AP or even Dawson going into the ruck for 10% of the game. Two rucks makes us less mobile and versatile"

Says it all that you won't be happy with anyone who isn't the best forward in the AFL.

No he won't. Unless Pav is injured.

If Late change deboer/Silva for C.Pearce will make me happier. Sorry Coulda.

Meima ,Tabs marking skills are just not there. He needs to play WAFL to improve that aspect. Thats what tall forwards do, take marks.
