If the team doesn't manage Pav this year and give him some breaks something is seriously wrong.

We won't be managing Pav. He'll play every game he's fit for. He's our only experienced key forward.

We had 3 talls out and 3 talls in.
Tabs, Clarke and Griffin replaced by MJ, A Pearce and Sandi.

Except MJ is a defender. We're going to play a 5 man forward line and Pav will be double teamed all day.

Nice to see langdon and Pearce in! Sad to say as I used to like him but it's surely over for mzungu.

Im going to assume Pearce plays forward and Johnson in pushes one of Sheridan or sutcliffe further up the ground?

People want us to transition to a more free running and less stoppage dependant game, then complain when we only play one ruck despite the other guy not offering much, other teams only playing the one, and our guy being better? At least try to melt consistently.

This. I truly believe we cannot carry support for Sandilands unless they are kicking bags. The days of stoppages and congestion are over, we HAVE to have the extra runner.

If anything the rules changes will make forwards/backs who can help in the ruck more valuable

For me it's less about the other guy kicking a bag but giving Sandi a chop out in the ruck so HE can rest up forward and create a bit of havoc- especially when our key forwards will consist of old man Pavlich (sorry Pav) and a beanpole natural defender.

Some good changes. Sad to see tabs out of the team he wasn't our worst last week but if Pearce plays forward it will give us a chance to see if he can be as good as he is down back.
And if it doesn't work he can swing back to defence.

Meima ,Tabs marking skills are just not there. He needs to play WAFL to improve that aspect. Thats what tall forwards do, take marks.
I agree but you should not slam him like he is the worse offender agaist WB.

Thoughts on Langdon's role at AFL level? 34 touches in the WAFL last weekend, but not a traditionally high accumulator...

A hell of a lot of goals were scored by all teams last week by having a loose man or a runner onto a ball over the top of the defense, having a resting ruck near the square removes that option of the easiest, most prolific route to goal in today's modern rebounding defense game by clogging the space and likely plonking a defender in the way

But that's taking away Sandi's dominance in the ruck where we really need him! Keep Sandi in the middle!

I think initially he'll be used much the same as Weller, half forward with the odd stint on a wing. We won't be able to look forward to Bennell or even Morabito for a while so it's nice to see another pacy player with some X-factor lurking around the forward line.

Worlds worst buddy. Let the team down.

I should have elaborated.

I want him to go to Peel so he can improve his skills, confidence et al - make a return later in the year as the true Dead Eye he is. I believe he's a lot better than what he currently gives and I want him to have an important forward presence - whether or not he kicks goals or allows situations for them to occur, either way it means an extra 2-4 goals a game we sorely need.

Sandi is looking in good nick though, i dare say he'll be covering well. Also good to see Langdon get a run, hope Weller and Langdon bring their Peel chemistry to the game.

He's looking very good. Best he's looked for a long time, and that's coming off one of his best years.
