Interesting we'll be going in with only 1 ruck. First time that's ever happened under Lyon.

It makes sense to have just the one ruck when we rest Sandi but it's peculiar to see us maintain it when he's back in when you think in terms of managing our 35 year old, most important player. I hope this won't be too common this year.

Alex Pearce's role will be very interesting this week, we might actually be playing him as a forward/ruck which I hate.

I'm not a Tabener fan, but I do agree with you in this situation, no one could kick goals in Freo forward line last week. The dilemma is how long does he stay in wafl, it can't be good for confidence going up and down.
I'm happy with the balance of changes though think Hughues is a little lucky, not sold on his disposal.

Whilst i am a fan of Tabs, i understand those who aren't, there are times that he is so frustrating but i think this is only because he isn't living up to his potential. But he is only relatively young and as we all know talls take time to develop. he is easily our best next kpf next to Pav (which says something about our forward stocks i know...) but bringing him in for a game and then dropping him after like you said everyone else played so poorly makes no sense to me. Back him in, invest the game time in him and trust he will eventually find some consistency and start living up to his potential. It will be frustrating but we need him to find his feet and gain confidence, which he wont be doing if he feels like he is going to be dropped every time he doesn't perform. i also dont really understand the logic when you compare it to that of Mayne, how long has he been under performing and yet we persist and persist with him when he struggles to kick a goal from directly in front 20m out. It might sound silly but that sort of behaviour has the potential to cause rifts amongst the ranks when one player is treated differently than that to another.

Not worried about Sandi solo-rucking. Last time he rucked against Nicholls, he got the 69 hitouts if I recall. Nicholls is a pretty terrible ruckman.

Last time Tabs went back to Peel he got a bag of goals straight away. It'll do him some confidence.

Yeah being dropped after 1 game will be great for his confidence. He'd be as confident as Axel Foley right now.

The bloke just needs to get his hands on the ball. He's getting terrible supply in the 1s, and now he gets to chop out against a terrible Swan Districts side against WAFL-grade defenders. Certainly easier than wrestling with Steven May all day.

Not bad changes at all. Really excited with the inclusion of Langdon and Weller keeping his spot. Clancee keeping his spot is a bit of a concern, but we're definitely heading in the right direction, wouldn't mind seeing Silva replace Clancee at the last second this time.
Will be heading down to Steel Blue on Saturday and I hope to see Tabs kick a bag.

Disagree. More annoying for mine.

Late change - C. Pearce (out): J. Griffin (in). One ruckman on Subi Oval is madness.
Looks like GCS only have one ruckman playing (Nicholls). This seems to be a season of pace and mobility: the days of two ruckmen in the 22 could be over.

Every time he's played WAFL he's dominated. He doesn't need confidence at that level. Then he plays in the 1's, gets the ball kicked over his head all day and gets dropped after 1 game where he was far from our worst.

Just hope Tabs gets a few weeks to gain his confidence with Peel. None of this In for 1 week our for 2 weeks like last season. He wasn't our worst on Sunday, hardly to blame compared to Suttclife/ Clancee Pearce and Spurr. Very lucky players this week, hope they perform like they want their spots.

Tabs first half was as bad a half as you're ever likely to see in the AFL. Ever! He must've got a rocket at half time though as he did 2 or 3 nice things in the last half but the coaches don't forget.

You do tend to exaggerate. Tabs dominating every game of WAFL he's played is of the chart in the over the top stakes.

This morning Tabs and Alex both played forward in different teams. Alex performed better and is the long term better prospect . That should be the end of the story.

It's not though, because we've still gone in with 1 tall forward too few. There will be no resting ruck for the opposition to match up on, so Pav will still be getting double teamed. Welcome to 2013 all over again.
