Hiya guys (and girls)

Should be a good game this. Always like seeing atleast play on the G no matter the result. We don't get to play their much.

Often us supporters all get carried away with our own "young guns" and our bias causes us to over-rate them... so I will ask you the following in advance so you can keep it in mind whilst watching the game and then comment afterwards:

Could you please watch the following 2 young Port players during the game and I will ask for your thoughts after the game?

1) Robbie Gray: IMO reminds of Gary Ablett when he 1st started playing for Geelong as a forward/midfielder. Not saying he is as good as or will be as good as GAJ. Just in the way he is built similar (small and compact), way he moves, stands up in tackles, and creates for teammates.

2) Hamish Hartlett: Not sure who he is similar too yet. Skillwise maybe a young Buckley, but doesn't demand or get as many possessions... but great kick on him and deceptively strong in the hips.

Likewise, if you have any young guns you would like "outside" comment on after the game let me know and I will take note of them during the game.

Cheers.:thumbsu:

^

Really like the look of Hartlett from what I've seen so far. He's going to be a really good player IMO. Will obviously watch him more closely this week.

I didnt see the game unfortunately so can only go off whats written on here. Fingers crossed Didak and Medhurst at least can come in.

I think someone asked the question "do we play Anthony Rocca"....well, IMO, NO we do not play him, ever again. We pat him on the back, thank him for the memories and the great efforts over the years, give him a lap of honour, and send him off to the next phase of his life and wish him all the very best.... Anthony Rocca is well past his prime, the game has passed him by. If you think there is a spot there for him, your crazy.
He's been great over the years, but people, its time to move on.

^^^ No . We still need Pebbles , if we use him sparingly ( which i think is the plan ) he could still be a great value for us this year . And at the very least Rocca does deserve a farewell game .

What I think will happen:

Out: Goldsack, Cook, Cox
In: Medhurst, Thomas, Didak

That's if reports are correct for a change. I would like to see L.Brown out for Reid, but I can't see it happening. I still can't justify bringing Dawes back in, he's had an ordinary season to date in the VFL, preying on a completely undermanned Box Hill defence hasn't sold me just yet.

Shaun Burgoyne is out too, supposedly. He was easily BOG last time we played and we won.

Travis Boak will be a superstar. Would be touted by the media if he played for a Melbourne club.

ahem hoggy myself and the ever missed magpie girl are sterring this bandwagon my friend

I dare say the bloke that bought his Anzac Day jumper would be the driver.

i would reckon the bloke that spoke to him the day he was told he was debuting and tagging deledio would be up there. Bought him a beer at crown that weekend too

But fair effort with the jumper hoggy

Toovey is earning money as an AFL player and you bought the beers?

Harsh....
its not like he asked for one, he just kicked 3 pasted deledio on debut and we won

deserved the beer

Team Adjustments

Bring back rusling/dawes to the foward line when possible.
Drop leigh brown he does try but hes just not good enough.
Corrie needs to bulk up and try harder or not play.
Jaxson Mcarthy Macaffer all could be midfield types. I think macaffer should be developed into a mid with a big tank. He showed that he could be an impact player in a nab cup game i think. He tackles runs hard etc. Wellingham gone! until he can get rough n tackle apply pressure win his own ball he shouldnt be getting a game. Didak back in, thomas permanent foward because frankly he isnt a midfielder he just cant run like a dane swan or a pendlebury. Brown could be a key foward i think. Start bringing in some new backs (kids) to help harry out!

And stop going round the bloody boundary :)

Absolute crap. Thomas runs his fricken arse of and has much more pace compared to swanny and pendles.

Re: Team Adjustments

He doesnt have enough stamina or ball winning capability he wont be an elite midfielder. He can take a grab though he should be in the foward line only

Re: Team Adjustments

^same could have been said about davis 7 years ago.

Here is a suggestion. GO and watch the west coast V collingwood game elimination final in 2007. Last 5 min on youtube and tell me he doesnt have a tank

Wellingham may not go in Hard but he does have skill. He is only young and could become another pendelbury in a few years.

Alan Toovey has beers and doesn't drink-drive.

Another plus.

Yeah, I have no idea when Shaun will be back, hasn't played since Round 3 and I think they said he'd only be 4? weeks but still hasn't come back in. Also glad to see that an opposition supporter writes so highly of Boak, he is already a superstar IMO and is the hardest runner at our club (harder than Kane Cornes ).

Should be a good game, this is a week when our yo-yo form is up and we usually play well at the 'G (bar 2007 gf) but at the same time, Collingwood were pretty good last week and I really rate you guys. Good Luck :thumbsu:

Yo-yo form? Port Adelaide has been poor for three straight weeks.

They weren't good against a struggling North, who had been thrashed the previous week against Collingwood, and the following week against Geelong. They fell over the line at home against Richmond, who I think is the worst team in the AFL both off and on the field when they don't have Matthew Richardson in the team. They were thrashed last weekend in Sydney. I expect them to try a bit harder this week though, but Collingwood should be able to win still if we get two or three of the injured forwards back.

i wouldnt be making to many changes for sunday we won a tough game last week and according to mick everyone played a role.

Goldy is well of his '08 best am wondering if he should be allowed to find his feet in the 1's?!

In any case i think medders, rocca and didak deserve to come straight back in if 120% fit!
I think daisy should be made to understand that he has to earn his spot, leave him down for a week, i thought dick was outstanding!!!!!!!
