Thank you. This Evans hype is a bit bizarre.
Frank-the-Tanks looks like he belongs out there; his slick mark and hand-ball gifted Rozee a goal.
Ditto his last game, mark handball to McKenzie (who goaled).

Wont surprise if its Buroyne, hard to see them moving L.Jones they seem persistent on him as a fwd

Allir can take Cox and Jonas fine on Mcstay or Mihocek. 3 wont be forward all at the same time. Issue will be just getting Allir and Jonas a rest if they go smaller

Someone with pace has to tag Daicos on the back flank, Jones may get the gig

I actually don't mind this, it forces him to be accountable - and forces him to defend. if Port are going to play that high defensive press they have to stop the passes that start the fast breaks. Tagging Daicos may act to stop that first kick.

IN: Burgoyne
OUT: Farrell

Jase can actually defend. Does Farrells kicking make up for his lack of Defending ability?

IN: Finlayson
OUT: Georgie.

Mitch needs to go back to the SANFL for a month and be told to just get his confidence in his kicking back. He looks completely shot when taking a kick. Even the one he made from 2 meters out sprayed right.
I didn't see any deficiencies in Farrell's defending in the Brisbane game. I also would like to see Burgoyne in the side but not at Farrells expense.

We actually should’ve won this corresponding fixture last year. Was a standard port game where we got a heap more of the ball, and followed up 6 goal opening term with barely scoring for nearly 2 quarters before another late flurry. Frustrating 6 point loss, which was the final nail in the coffin for season 2022 from memory.

Re Boaky In some parts I agree, but over the course of a game, he does more good then bad. Finished pretty high in the B&F - must be doing something right.

There have been plenty of games that our midfield had been dominated mid game and he has helped shift the momentum with his grunt and run.

We also don’t see what he does leadership wise on game day.

Against good teams, you want him in.
Yeah, and how often do we lose to "good teams"?

Boak isn't the answer. He never was the answer.

Move Mitch Georgiades down back (time to do a Chad Cornes).
Bring in Finlayson for McKenzie.
Boaky to replace Evans.
Make Duursma the SUB.

After that performance on Saturday, I think I'm genuinely as excited as I have been for a game of football in years.
I know, enormously fun day. Mind you Lachie Neale on AFL360 last night blamed their loss 96.3% on them being flat and 3.7% on us being good (my estimated figures).
Let's hope Collingwood also find themselves feeling surprisingly flat.

...
Rather than develop a genuine key position defender let's move an out of form forward to defence?

IIRC Chad wasn't out of form when he was switched to defence. His ability to read the ball and his strong contested marking made him suitable for the role. I haven't seen these attributes consistently from Mitch yet.
