Actually you could argue ANY game is a danger game, such is the evenness of the competition. As for carlton we haven't been convincing against them in recent years so there is doubt even though very minimal it's there for mine anyway.
Or receiving the won ruck tap.
Pick a team, any team, that Collingwood have to play this weekend. And if Collingwood lose, you face Madam Guillotine.
You pick Carlton.

Some day, maybe after we win the flag, people around here will realise this is a team game.
Cox had that special height which bamboozools the opposition.
He has the athletic talent as well.
Plus second ruck.
An easy choice for me, Cox every time.
Over Reid yes.
How dare you doubt! The Rupe can leap tall buildings in a single bound, and he has a set of skeleton keys!Is Wills capable of playing a lock down role? It's not something I've seen him do.
In my mind the rarest and most damaging skill in the game is to run with the ball through traffic avoiding oncoming tacklers whilst simultaneously assessing options up the field. Pendles and Diesel are the best ever at it, but at mediocre pace. You can count on one hand the blokes who could do it consistently at genuine pace - Macleod, Long, Ablett Jnr and Wells are the ones who spring to mind for me. If we get him fit and moving close to how he used to, he'll be a weapon.Yep receiving outside of contest type player.
Good things come to those that wait.Gonna be waiting a long time for that, Saintly...

Interesting **** this.. post stoppage contested possession differential re.. one on one's and three on threes and **** like that after a stoppage. Geelong and us are killing it re.. the ladder reflects the fact that this aspect of the game is what it's all about and that re.
What this differential indicates as well re is that clearing the ball out of a stoppage is a bit of a vlakia cause it's either a rushed mongrel kick and or the bloke you're kicking it to is a **** kicker or the blokes opponent is far better than you anyhow re. Illustration.. comes out of a stoppage.. opposition kreas kicks it long out of the center square only to find that Moore Langdon or Howe will gobble it up anyhow re.. hence why it's important to have elite intercept markers and spoilers and **** like that re.
The on the couch team praised our forward line for being selfless and thinking for themselves without the use of runners and **** like that re.
It is my hope that this post assists commoners who keep saying **** like.. oh but we're losing the stoppages.. oh but we're losing the stoppages and **** like that.. what's most important is what happens after the ball is cleared out of the stoppage re.
Glad to help.

Tend to agree, but I'm going to continue to dream. At 34 with his issues does anyone move like they used to though?

Looks like he put on some of the pudd since he crossed over too.
I haven't got high hopes. The best we can hope if he makes the one's is Varcoe like cameos but I doubt he will cut them up all day long like he used to.
How about Beams and JDG to be rotating grunt in place of Tay until He and or Sier are ready to go again?Wells is an outside mid and not a like for like replacement, Sier, Wills or DeGoey more suitable to replace Tay. And yes it is a danger game, apart from the norf game they've been playing good footy and seem to match up on us.
Completely left of field thought of something coming up, with Indigenous round coming up soon would we be inclined to play a Wells or Varcoe if the worst case scenario was there that they weren’t in form? Or does team structure come first? At 34 with his issues does anyone move like they used to though?

Asked the question in another thread and yes, two different players and now two different teams but which loss is more impacting Treloar’s last year or Tay’s now? Given personnel, team structure etc.Yeah Beams is a rare inside outside type, Jordy is a bull. Neither are as good as a coalface player as Tay is though (yet i:e Jordy) it is not time yet for Jordy to go full time in the middle given the riches we have there at the minute.
I do like your idea of rotating Beams and JDG though, that's enough to cover certainly against carlton. Do we really need a Tay replacement (even though he can't really be replaced given his contested footy) this week? For memory they have a bloke called Cripps - danger some?
