Just looking at the contrasting styles, our recent form and our inability to score against even the worst sides I think we’re in for a torrid time. Would’ve given us a chance against everyone else but West Coast are hard to restrict and we struggle with good tall forwards.

Maynard absolutely has to go to Ryan, and needs to lock down ridiculously. He seems to create so much

They have beaten Melbourne Fremantle Collingwood Geelong Carlton Hawthorn and the Giants there.

So the only top eight side they have beaten apart from Collingwood is Geelong. And we beat Geelong at Optus too!!!

Staying at a golf club resort for a week then playing a basically full strength eagles On their home deck in front of 30k eagles fans doesn’t instill a lot of confidence . I can already hear the boos!

So many defeatists on here.
The last time we played them we were smashed, I know. Even so, it still took WC until late in the second quarter to overtake us. We totally jumped them early, kicking 4 out of the first 5 goals.

We won’t be carrying Atu, Wills, Shaz etc., We have Pendlebury and De Goey this time, and yes they’ll have a strong team as well, but no Yeo at least this time.

They absolutely played out of their skins that day, they didn’t miss targets or goals, they were on fire. No way they’re kicking 18.3 again.

The media and fans over there are already working out their Prelim matchup and ticket plans. Nobody expects us to win at all. Don’t underestimate how that can galvanise a club to play above itself. History shows it can have some impact. Remember how MM played that up before the 2002 QF against Port?

Maybe I’m clutching at straws, but I think we’re a chance. We’re not starting 66 points down, it’s 0-0 at the first bounce. We’re a competent side that defends fiercely and shows occasional brilliance. It’s an oval ball that can bounce either way. We’re a red hot chance and our guys all know it.

Lets go out there and **** their shit up!

Agree. I know how it will start. We will probably run with a game plan that starts to work, then Eagles work it out, then we do nothing.
