He’s my avatar for a reasonAll for that as a plan. Super sub material for sure.
How can you see why it would happen though? If the afl change it, they are disadvantaging us for gws benefit. It can’t be allowed to happen. Bris will get a longer break, what happens if someone suffers a corkie in our game? And that one day was the diff between getting up or not? Teams outside the top 4 can’t complain of travel, that’s the whole benefit of finishing top 4A Saturday prelim would make my blood boil! I can see why it would happen but it's not our fault that GWS didn't earn a home final.
Unfortunately the sub is always the most vulnerable. But we'll see what happens next week. He's be stiff to miss, but thats the nature of what we're dealing with atm. Anyone would be unfortunate.
Hopefully he is sub, but we'll see.
Nobody has yet mentioned the elephant in the room but our worst performed last start was Pendlebury. He’s obviously not going to be dropped and will start in our 22 but if he backs up with another poor game and/or the team is found out for pace…possible candidate to be subbed off?
He was playing a defensive role on Petracca. It worked until half time, but Petracca is a beast. Would anyone else have done better? If someone else was playing the role, I think the only one who would have done better is Petracca.
It was announced the Tuesday of SF last year (as per Edmund on SEN 2 mins ago).
Even if the AFL pushes for us to be the Saturday Prelim, we shouldn’t be allowing it
We finished top, all the advantages should be ours. Especially after not getting any kind of advantage in the first final
If we are a man down in the first 10 minute, who do you prefer as sub, Ginnivan or Lippa. If we're 5 points down with 10 minutes to go, who would you prefer as our sub? Lippa or Ginni?
I've had my questions a few times during the year. But to me that Brisbane game when he turned back the clock because he was playing an attacking role with JDG and Nick out really showed where's he's still at. The thing is that he plays a defensive role around stoppage to reduce bursting out the front of the pack, so he's not going to get the stoppage numbers, but no one else is particularly suited to that defensive role. Mitchell didn't play it very well in that game and is first dibs only. Tay's a ball hunter who gets drawn into the contest. JDG rolls the dice and that's what you want him to do. Nick is too small.Fair enough . I know questioning Pendles is always going to irk people so I expected some sort of backlash… Hopefully he has a role over the next few weeks. I’m sure he will. He’s still our go to man at centre clearances when the game isn’t going so well. Hopefully we are winning easily though

People get up in arms if Pendles has a sub 20 disposal game, without working out what his actual role in the team is. He's been a defensive minded mid for the past 2 seasons. As pointed out, the game where he got off the leash was against Brisbane, where he became the hit to guy and Coxy was putting it on his tit during that 2nd half.
Also thought Pendles had a few very impactful slaps and taps in traffic early on that wouldn't have been counted as disposals but which released our transition game. Not sure if he has got the kudos and I missed it but though Sidebottom was BOG at half time and still offered well in second half despite being used a lot less. In a game where we struggled for large portions to bypass May/Gawn/Lever he (at the very least) halved each of his contests and forced numerous stoppages up the ground.People get up in arms if Pendles has a sub 20 disposal game, without working out what his actual role in the team is. I'd need to watch the replay more closely but could the same be said for Josh Daicos? Lachie Hunter had nearly his worst game against us that he has ever played. Is Josh Daicos any reason for that, despite his season low?

Setting aside the desire for Friday night footy from the broadcaster it would need to be a 3:20 start into the 7 news and there’s also the problem of the interstate winner getting home on the Sunday if they do the double header. That’s why ours was an arvo PF last year.Just thinking would a super Saturday make sense?

Fair call I just recall last year we played the swans on a Saturday in Sydney in a prelim and prior to that GWS on a Saturday at the G?Setting aside the desire for Friday night footy from the broadcaster it would need to be a 3:20 start into the 7 news and there’s also the problem of the interstate winner getting home on the Sunday if they do the double header. Sometimes you just spend the whole day where the ball ain’t. Jaicos didn’t get many chances. Then getting pinged for htb … his uncharacteristic lack of awareness perhaps affected people’s opinion of how he played. The ball just hardly went on the members wing during the first half, hence why Jaicos and Hunter barely got near it. The opposite of Sidey who had 18 touches to half time. The ball was living out on his side of the ground.
