He is a kid though, playing a tough role against bigger bodies
But I thought he competed pretty well. He took 1 mark, while we would like to see more of it; but that will come with more strength and confidence in himself.
And I think it's important to remember he was playing predominantly ruck the first half of the year. Hasn't had many forward minutes, really.

Was pretty disappointed with Grundy today, felt like he didn’t want it enough. With all the talk about his contract and potentially having lost his spot in the ones I would have liked more desperation today.

Do we consider resting some players…I think Nick Daicos could do with a week off. We don’t want to be copping any injuries from here on in….perhaps Moore as well.

Would rather keep winning thanks. Whoever replaced those two would be far inferior.

No. Big mistake. I cannot believe that people can watch the past ten weeks and talk of discarding Cox without a moment's hesitation. Her was really good again today. I don't think Grundy would enjoy having the weight of the world on his shoulders on Friday night in front of 75 thousand with us on a ten game winning streak. He would want to have a big game.

I’m not saying he’s been terrible and deserves to be dropped but if we decide to bring Grundy back in then Cox is the unlucky one to miss. Cameron was better today I thought.

I did also watch Draper manhandling both these guys last week so aren’t going to go over the top in praise when they go up against Finlayson as the No.1 ruck opponent. They should be good.

If you watched the VfL game spinny you would see. Def not ready for AFL. Need atleast another game in the 2’s, and certainly isn’t ready for Gawn/Jackson. Lot of cobwebs to blow out, and match fitness isn’t there.

Yeah, I'm not so sure. They were apparently ready to consider him if Cox didn't get up so it's more line ball than you suggest if you ask me. I don't think we need to rush him though.

Draper destroyed Grundy for 3 quarters in the ANZAC Day clash and manhandles most ruckmen.

Fly is adamant he won't play the three ruckman unless checkers is injured. If Cox and Cameron continue their form (especially Cox) I will be concerned. Both have been a key part of our ten game winning streak and it's almost like jinxing the run by dropping someone who has done nothing to warrant being left out other than not having the ability of their replacement.

Agree he needs another run in the magoos. He looks fit, and got through unscathed. Understandable he wasn't dominant after 15 weeks out, he had the 6 disposals with 21 hit outs, but 0 marks. I thought his timing looked out whilst in the ruck, and his attempts at marking...

11 disposals, 9 tackles.

EDIT: what others have already said.

Apart from rucking, he doesn't do a lot. He does it well enough but in the modern game, the best rucks are the ones who do something else. He could be a good player but he doesn't really touch the ball elsewhere a lot.

Still only a 19 year old kid. Get another full preseason into him leading into 2023 and we'll see what we've got.

Considering he is in his 10th season, it's not bad you can question only two years of it. We can say what about his previous 7 years where he's won two Copelands and twice AA.....

With 10 straight wins the negative nellies are getting pretty desperate for something to cling to.

McCreery needs to go, how many times did he have space and didn't provide himself a forward option and gets beaten by his opponent.

Bianco out too, just got badly exposed on the outside.

Are you insane regarding McCreery. What games are you watching. The stuff that kid does. We don’t have anyone on the park that is capable of doing. Sometimes players sacrifice themselves for the team. His chase downs and pressure acts are insane. A bit like your comment.

All he needs is more game time and knowing what he is actually capable of. His speed and attack are second to none in the team.

Bianco I can agree with. He is way too slow and always slows us down. Even when he marks it. Nothing wrong with knowing your level. Some don’t even make it to VFL. He is just another that just doesn’t have WIT for AFL.

7 disposals and 3 tackles. he doesn't impact the game and doesn't get involved in many scoring chains. You have to do more than just apply pressure, he was ******* useless today
How important was our pressure in achieving today's win? I'd rank it the number one factor against a fast team with dangerous key forwards.

Making any changes that negatively impact on our pressure game would be a big no no. It's our brand and the reason why we keep surprising. Dropping McCreery for say, Henry, would have a big negative impact, so I don't see it happening.

Disagree strongly he's got to go, Henry would have kicked 4+ with the golden chances he got 30m out.

What part of team balance don’t you guys understand. McCreery adds a balance to a somewhat slow plodder brigade.

Bianco who runs at the speed of dark.

Lapinski who couldn’t run out of a paper bag. Lucky he has quicker hands.

Sidey who spends more time running sideways than his name should suggest.

Ginnivan who’s lucky can kick goals and has a lateral step. Otherwise running in a straight line I’d fear he’d trip over his shoe laces.

I’ll leave the Matrix out of this as he can just disappear in mid stride so this doesn’t apply. And he is Captain fantastic.

So all your thoughts are to remove the fastest and fiercest players we have out there, to bring in another plodder. And I don’t mean Henry, as Henry I think has a spot in our seniors. Ahead of WHE. But hey, I’m on my pat malone there.

Anyone calling for McReery to be dropped is just…wowza

Like…oof

Just…wow

Imagine watching the game at such a superficial level that you measure McReery’s input and importance on his disposals lol

first time ive seen him forward today, so I think we just need to give him time to adjust to a change in role.

I think it will depend how he pulls up and trains this week. Wed will be the decider. I won't be able to see too much of the main session, but hopefully 45 mins of it.

In Mihocek Ruscoe Carmichael out Adams Howe Bianco (sub)

Bianco is done. Too too slow. You need to be an impact player as sub. And he definitely isn’t that.

There is no way he could’ve done anything like what Carmichael has been doing these past two weeks. Yet he has played full games in both of them.

He needs to go and we need a different dynamic player to get us better.

I actually watched the game with my eyes and saw him leave 3+ goals on the table with poor forward craft and barely touch the footy.

I actually watched the game to. We had 55 I50's for 13 goals, less than 25% conversion, so clearly McCreery wasn't the only player leaving goals on the table. Who was responsible for the other 39?

He's a hard body and halves contests instead of letting opposition players break away.

Adams is a box head with no understanding of what it takes to play midfield. His hands are too small to grab the ball and is why he fumbles so much.

I mid whose disposal efficiency sits in the 50% ranges most of his games means he is not someone you want disposing of the ball.

Strange how we had our most productive period in the 3rd qtr. Yes we still need help there. Maybe it’s time to throw McCreery in there and Carmichael and share the time Adams has in the middle. They can’t be any worse.

As Adams is putrid.

If not for Adams and Howe, McCreery would have been one of the most likely candidates for omission. I don't think it was his 'first down game in awhile'. He hasn't done much for several weeks. Bianco had a really good patch but I didn't think he sustained his form in the 2nd half. Lipinski had a decent game.

No regarding McCreery. Read my other posts and you’ll understand why. I’m too tired of explaining.
