To be honest on balance at the moment I prefer the Mihocek and Reid combo.

Both do so much more around the ground.
Reid’s ground level work has been exceptional compared to Cox’s.

Still not an advocate to see Shaz in just yet. Third week in after third knee reco. Surely we have enough depth to cover Howe for the time being rather than rush Shaz back after a few games back. Reid or Checkers some other options for time being? Daics in up forward.

I reckon even if Howe didn't get injured today, they would've conservatively pencilled Shaz in for the Hawks game on the MCG.

I don't think bringing him back for the North game is rushing him too much.

Daicos had 18 disposals in a half of football. I reckon he was the one earmarked for a late call up (if needed) hence the managed minutes. He would be first in if we drop a forward. I'm a huge fan of Varcoe but he was awful today outside of a few nice front and centres. That tap on sh:t me when he could have just possessed the ball and let us reset. Instead it rebounds for a goal.

My changes:

IN: Scharenberg, Daicos, Elliott (if fit)
OUT: Howe (inj), Varcoe, Reid

I agree with your INS, but my outs would be:
OUT: Howe (inj), Thomas, Varcoe

I was against including Reid but it would be an injustice to drop him after today. He has earnt another week.

I like this but I suspect the club wants to be conservative with the Berg.
Maybe time to bring in some fresh blood.

ins - Daicos + IQ
Out - Howe + Thomas

Reid can always go back if required.

Not sure if Reid's ability to play back is still within him. I'm not sure his body, post numerous soft tissue injuries, will enable him to run around after a marking forward.

I’m a little concerned with carrying Greenwood, Aish, Mayne and to some extent Phillips in the same side...

Not sure how many slow by foot players we can carry.

Greenwood today was atrocious in the way he defended an player as weak as Lloyd particularly in aerial contests.

Mayne looked like his feet were stuck in concrete all day.

To be fair to Greenwood, he had a few mates whose defensive pressure was non existent.

I didn’t want to see Reid dropped last week, he competes well in the air, is a good mark, much better than Cox below his knees and today was used as the second ruck ahead of Cox and is a better shot for goal and can kick them from 50. Cox is great to kick long to, rarely outmarked, gets a raw deal from the umpires - could get multiple free kicks in front of goal a game. Would love them to work well together but if I had to pick one it would be Reid at the moment - I think people on this board are way to harsh on him compared to the view of Cox.

Do you reckon?

It was utterly galling to see Schache get a free and a goal because Moore momentarily felt for his opponent, then see Cox have to win a wrestling match up the other end to even get to the drop of the ball. FFS.

For me it's a structural issue. It needs to be either Reid or Cox.

For me
Out Howe (inj) Greenwood never been a fan Varcoe love him but running around like headless chook.

Throw Reid back for Howe Issac for Greenwood Daicos for Varcoe. Not sure about last.

Out Howe Greenwood Varcoe
In Issac Daicos Goldy leave Shazz for couple more weeks

Very rough deal... Most big forwards do but I’m not sure what it is about him, maybe it’s cause he has such long arms and looks a bit unco in the contest at times but they just don’t call it.

Minimal changes.

Persist with Mihocek, Reid and Cox for another week. Bucks' said he didn't get a proper look at running 3 talls and whether or not it worked because we played so poorly.

OUTS: Howe, Varcoe (1 tackle is simply not enough)
INS: Shaz, Daicos

Varcoe only had 1 tackle. Despite doing a couple of nice things, he was poor. Daicos deserves a crack at it
Shaz should come in for Howe if he's feeling confident and fit

JT: Didn't kick a goal but had 7 tackles
Greenwood: He's done enough over the last month or 2 to stay in, can't be dropped after 1 quiet game
Quaynor: No rush

It would be tough on Reid because he was good. But I like the balance offered by Cox and Mihocek better than the alternatives. And I really dislike the three tall set-up for us. It makes it hard to maintain forward pressure.
See this is the annoying thing about trying the 3 talls, now we have to wait for him to have an average game to justify dropping him even though it clearly didn’t work as a set up despite his own decent performance
