Out - Greenwood Brown

In - Aish Elliot

I’d only like to see 1 change
Out: brown
In: Elliott

But I think Aish will also come in for Greenwood. Brown might develop into a good player for us, but right now he doesn’t fit into the best 22 for our structure. Elliot back in the forward line pushes him out of the team imo

I'd go for:
In Elliot
Out Greenwood
But Aish will also be selected. The other out should be Varcoe but it will probably be Brown. If WHE can't back up then Brown might (and should) play.

For me Varcoe would go out before Thomas. Though both need to make the most of their opportunities, which they didn't do today.

In: Aish, Elliott
Out: Brown, Greenwood.

Wells would need at least a month of footy in the VFL before he could be considered, particularly given how rusty WHE looked today.

I'm usually a fan, but thiught he struggled today. All the forwards were well below their best.
He had some moments he could have down better but other than that it was a typical Varcoe game.

I’d like him to get more touches and score more goals but the he isn’t keeping better players out of the side atm so it’s moot point. As long as he plays his role he’s fine unless something better comes along.

Varcoes manic pressure has resulted in 1 free kick and 7 against for the year and 1 goal.
He's been dropped once already this year, so it's not a controversial call for him to be dropped again.
His speed is saving him, but needs to improve his output, and quickly.

He had 6 tackles today.

Out:Greenwood, Varcoe, Thomas

In:Aish, Wells, Elliott

Brown let himself down with his goal kicking but he was harder than Thomas in the contest and won the ball in more difficult situations than Varcoe.

He plays the defensive forward role in place of Varcoe.

I’d hope Wells has another good one, he has made a difference the couple of games he has played. He may be getting on but his decision making is elite and skills are still silky.

Something we been badly lacking

He found himself having to contest in the air a bit too often and it's just not his bag.
Probably due to a combination of Mihocek having a down game, Elliott being out and WHE being rusty.

Our midfield is really gonna have to get its shit together next week because Rockliff, Boak and Wines are very good clearance players and have been on fire this season

and Grundy go against Ryder and his Grand Final Conaquer in Lycett. Big ask for Brodie there

They'll probably throw Ryder forward for chunks like they did against us last season. Before our 8 goal final quarter blitz, I remember he was a real game changer for Port when the game was in the balance. Appropriate match-up for Roughead.

There’s two types of changes that are touted.

1) changes the poster wants
2) changes the poster thinks the club will make

In recent times, we don’t make numerous changes unless mandatory (injury / suspension).
Then we have to take into account players, if fit, that are just auto selections.

On this basis, if Elliott is fine he is an auto selection.
He comes in. Must.

Then we have to consider if Aish is returning; or is Wells ready?

I’d think maximum two are in by the coaches, being:

Elliott and Aish.

Who goes out I think will be the last two back in after missing games not based on injury.
So that leaves Greenwood and Varcoe out.

Still won't be easy for Brody.

Lycett and Vardy really limited his Impact in the Grand Final
