Ouch.

I guess at least it's better than our usual trick of finally giving a deserving young player a game right as we travel to Geelong to get smeared into a fine paste and then blaming them for the loss and dropping them the following week.
Yep, based on past history we would have brought Worrell in to play on Cameron.

Even though he hasn't earned it I'm glad Milera is back. He's one of few who could actually be a good player. We have so little talent/skill. He's only teased in the past and is still underdone so realistically 2023 is when we can expect something meaningful but hopefully he can at least show that there's still a player there
I'm hoping we'll play him at half forward, need another guy like him up there who can deliver the ball inside 50 to a target.

Pretty steep there calling Laird, Keays and Crouch 3 of the worst 25-30 year old mids in the comp... Crouch is massively down but Keays and Laird have been pretty good in a side that has largely struggled over the last 4 years.
getting 30+ possessions a game doesnt instantly equal “pretty good”.. none of these lads do any great damage to the opposition.. none of them have explosive speed (maybe keays if any of them), none are highly skilled and none of them are great decision makers.. all these traits are what now makes up the top modern midfielder.. not so much high possession count.

name the most experienced 25-30 year old range main midfielder groups at all the other clubs that are worse than these three hacks..you’ll be hard pressed. you might look to essendon and WC.. but west coast havent had the most lucky season health/injury wise.. and the bombers atleast have some half decent mids..

oh, and the side has largely struggled in recent years because of its deplorable midfield not despite it.. of which these three have been a massive part..

I just about have more faith in the likes of Hately, soligo, Berry, murphy etc with ball in hand now.. than the trio of 25-30 year old high accumulating hacks.. the three amigos are garbage. the sooner we accept it and start moving on from them the better.

two of the three of them have been pretty much totally pantsed in the last 4 rounds by the likes of Gws, blues, lions and, to a ever so slightly lesser extent, the saints. completely embarrassed.

yet not many here like to bring this up.. these lads are a protected species around here.. much safer (and maybe less painful to acknowledge) to instead put the heads in the sand over our main midfield group and focus on the deficiencies in the (mostly young) defensive and forward lines..

Matt Crouch back in…… Faaaark me..

Is there a ruckman in the league that you won’t post that ROB matches up well on them? I reckon that’s at least 4 now and he was getting pantsed every time. You need new material, where are you copy/pasting this rubbish from?
Just ran my eye over the few measurable statistics which are consistent. AFL fantasy points.
ROB's last 28 games (all 2021/22 games) averages 85 points. Strachan last week scored 92.

Does this mean we've dropped a guy who played better than the average game from ROB?

By the way... Does anyone know how much input Rory Sloane would be having regarding selection?

This is a bad, bad selection this week. Just absurd.

If bringing back M Crouch back effects Hatelys form ( which it mostly will )

Will be the most idiotic selection of the season by far

So many to choose from.

My favourites are the one or two games for the young guys before they are dropped. You'd never think we were meant to be rebuilding and give the younger guys a run of 4 or 5 games to get their feet.

List management really has its work cut out for it this year and next. Needs to take away the option for Nicks to be a complete fool.
Rebuild needs to be serious. Not half arsed.
*Need to get games into younger players who will likely become part of our future top 4 side.

Out: Walker, Crouch, Sloane, Brown, Frampton, McAdam*

Agree with the premise of list management cutting as much dead wood as possible so the idiots in our coaches box can't pick them but.....

Who are the younger players that Tex and McAdam are keeping out of the team?

I agree with the others on your list that we have younger options we need to play.

Not sure why Cook isn't playing every week. He's one of the future shining lights you get to 50 games as quick as possible. Instead we back in McHenry and Murphy who probably won't be at the club when we are half decent. Nicks has no idea.
Been saying this for ages. For me cook is our most exciting youngster, and delaying his games tally is literally just delaying our rebuild. What’s the point of delaying

Zero point zero.

what?.. poor kicking?.. jones?… he missed with one, maybe two, kicks!!.

duckn Laird and Keays miss about 10 a bloody game.. and the rest of the time just kick and hope. two of the worst kicks in the comp… yet they have a free pass.

Jones is going at 59% KE which is significantly down from last year. On top of not handling a knock (and really, he probably deserves a whack for that), it certainly stood out.

The difference is position. Kicking skills are vital in a half back (or any outside position where players are getting a large volume of outside ball) as they are positions which drives ball movement. Inside mids? It's something can certainly elevate a career, but it's not make or break as these lads should spend a good amount of time in congestion. Especially as it's a position that shows bias towards physical traits (I.e. strength, explosiveness etc) then anything else.

Also you really need to stop living in this fantasy world. Laird is going at 64% KE which is a genuinely solid kicking efficiency for an inside mid. Keays on the other hand, whilst he's improved (and pretty significantly at that with a 5% upswing), he's still in that bottom tier of mids for kicking. Still there are a couple of brownlow medalists in that group.

Milera will be out within 2 weeks, he is far too lazy. The 5 year deal has gone under the radar for how bad its been.

The Laird/Keays + Hately/Berry combination has worked as well as anything could have with our current list, why upset it with MCrouch. Hopefully he is out as well after we get rightly punished by Geelong for these selections.

Harry Schoenberg is the problem. There was no suspension though. He's gaining a bit of a reputation as the resident fwit at Fat Controller. Aggressive bully behaviour on the piss
Plenty of competition there
