Heard a bit of that segment ... Bickley said no one in our sanfl team pushing for selection and we played Davis against Geelong and he got rag dolled - his words weren't rag dolled but basically that
When players in the sanfl know that they won't get picked regardless of their performances what incentive is their for them to try their guts out? So the selection committee can say next year. Pi$$ off Hart. In regards to Davis they set up that kid to fail big time. They bring him for his first game at Geelong knowing full well he would fail. Anyone would in their first game down there. This is how you treat our future.

Want to see just how conservative the Crows are relative to other sides? Here's how many players from Round 1, 2016 were still in a club's respective side last round

Fremantle - 3
GWS - 5
Gold Coast - 6
Carlton - 7
Collingwood - 7
Brisbane - 8
Hawthorn - 8
Melbourne - 8
Port Adelaide - 8
St Kilda - 8

Disgraceful mismanagement if true.

Blighty had some good thoughts on our team last night. After careful consideration this is what I would do with the team:

Brown Talia Sholl
Laird Keath Milera
Seedsman Sloane Jones
Jenkins Fogarty Gallucci
Stengle Greenwood Mchenry (when fit)

ROB MCrouch Smith

Kelly BCrouch Mcadam Hamill

Sholl and Milera fix our ball use out of the backline.
Smith Gallucci Jones rotated through middle fix our pace and chase issues.
Stengle Mchenry Gallucci Fogarty Greenwood help our forward pressure / tackling issues.
Mcadam and Hamill just because I wanna see what our team looks like with some pace in it.
Why Mchenry? Because he is a tackling machine.
Note to coaches: Can we tag the best opposition mid please?
Unlucky: Davis and Himmelberg. Close to being picked.

In: Fogarty Jones Sholl Gallucci Stengle Mcadam Hamill McHenry
Out: Hartigan Atkins Walker Knight Murphy Lynch Mackay Betts

I'd also argue our structures don't suit playing fluid and natural football so it only suits certain style of players. Can't stand our 'style of play' or current brand.

You are bringing in 2 injured players?

We need changes, but to bring in more players that can run out 4 quarters, rather than more passengers...

Wow, we are actually worse than the Australian Cricket Team.

It's unhealthy not to turnover some of your side... particularly if you are not dominating the competition.

Davis wasn't the only one to fail down there.

Stengle is ready, he's been in good form and kicked 3 on debeut (hey, if McKay gets credit for that game, why not Stengle).

Betts isn't performing to the required level....results driven and all that.

Wilson is in form...

With all those players out or form it's a miracle we aren't bottom of the sanfl ladder

I'd be getting that in front on Bickley before someone else does.

I'd be curious however to know if those numbers are impacted by injuries, as in players are still best 22 but not playing for injury

We bucked up when we dropped JJ and turned to krud when Mackay returned. Just need to drop Mackay and a couple of other senior players for kids, even if we don’t get it exactly right, to fire up the remainder. Of course that won’t happen because it goes against every philosophy of selection committee. We’ll be bunkering down and looking at more experience, not less.

Mackay didn't perform in the SANFL and that didn't stop them bringing him back.

Harrison Wigg performed for two years in the SANFL, they never gave him a chance. They completely ignore youth when it does perform and use the "team balance" or "we want to back the side in" excuse as why they can't play them, but then use it as the team balance excuse of why they need to bring guys like Mackay back, despite them doing SFA in the SANFL too.
This is exactly right, they pick and choose when to use which argument to justify their selections. Our younger guys have been dominating at certain periods in the SANFL throughout the year but were never picked as there was no spot for them in the AFL side. The older guys (Mackay and Douglas) only need 1 or 2 good games for them to come back in to bring their 'experience' back into the side...

Guys like Jones, Scholl, Mchenry and Fog have all played great games throughout the year and should have come in to the senior side at some point. The idea of waiting for these guys to string a heap of BOG games together before they are selected is just crap, they are young and are always going to have a quiet game here or there, that is just part of their development.

We have seen time and time again from opposition that the sooner you get these talented guys in the senior side the better, they may take a couple of weeks to get up to the speed of it but you can tell within a few games if they have what it takes. Look at ROB as an example, looked way off the pace after his first game this year, but we had no choice but to stick with him and now look at him.

Do the club actually realise how disgruntled even the most optimistic supporters like me are atm? They treat us with contempt
At this rate their is a very real chance we win less games then last year. Let that sink in for a minute. No camp saga, perfect preseason, barely any injuries comparatively, less wins!

The evenness of the comp is glossing over this fact. But if we get to the Collingwood game with only 10 wins, the pitchforks will be out!

They do monitor Social Media so there’s no doubt they are aware. The management of Social Media was very interesting after the Showdown. Fagan tweeting, fluff pieces from their own media, Captain facing the media. They knew.

Interesting their media has gone stone cold after Friday. I suspect their Twitter account would have been smashed with irate fans. Laying low this week.

None of that seems to translate into any action though - but they do know that’s for sure

This weeks media has followed the usual calculated script.

Tough talk on weekend and Monday morning.

By Tuesday the wheel starts to turn, the message softens. Was exactly that on MMM this morning, regular as a morning dump. So bloody obvious it’s patronising.

By tomorrow we will hear from coaches how we’ve been in excellent form (for halves) and we should back the boys in and the young blokes aren’t in form in SANFL anyway (cos Douglas can’t be out of the middle).

That’s the thing no one in the media has picked up on.

As deaneus pointed out, throw in the easier draw and that says it all.

We are ****ed.
