IN: Players who are willing to show up after half-time...
We know the stats of players in the 2nd half v 1st half in our fadeout games, which should be used to determine the outs this week.

Can't afford to be carrying passengers as the opposition will exploit.

Essendon was the 3rd game in a row where we sent the AusKick kids out to play after half-time, instead of the Adelaide Crows.

I take that back. The AusKick kids would have tried harder.

Yes, they would have at least chased!

Does anyone believe Ben Hart when he says even the skipper isn't safe ??

Didn't think so.
I don't take notice of what he says as is a complete muppet.

Except some players still get stats...they just stop running both ways

Godden on 5AA saying Tex won't miss because of his elbow injury. Just repeating the same things about getting the same people back into form.

And another golden opportunity sails by

gee wiz. listening to Godden on 5AA does not inspire confidence as a midfield coach. The stinger was when asked about what they had p[lanned when Merret caught fire - he seemed lost in his response..uugh

As for this weekend, I am thinking that if Tex is injured it will actually be a blessing as I think we need to bring in pace pace pace to get movement at half forward and to enable pressure to be put on across the forward half to help take pressure off the mids and defence.

If tex is injured:
out: Tex, seedsman (he has lost a yard of pace since his knee injury and I think could do with a rest - no SANFL
In: Jones & Stengle.

Then I would also be sorely tempted to bring in Paddy Wilson as a hard running long kicking strong bodied mid - but who goes out - club favorite McKay?

“You can’t just bring youth in just to make our team younger, they have got to be ready to play and play to the level that we require,” Hart said.
This is true. Its not fair on the young fellas to expect them to come in and perform to the same level as players like Tex, Dmac, Hartigan, Laird and Atkins.

Listening to godden before gives me no hope this side is going anywhere. Couldnt believe what he said about the solution to stopping merrett. He had no idea.

Godden is simply toeing the company line.

Disappointing to hear his comments - but they're obviously not his own thoughts, just the same shit the other muppets have been saying for almost 2 years now.

Insanity to still state that tagging Merrett wouldn't have made any difference - but it's the same bullshit we've been hearing for years... Camporeale doesn't believe in tagging, remember?

It could be that or it could be that we only recruit coaches who think along the same lines as the incumbents. I expect it would be 1 massive reach around at selection. Not a dissenting voice left.

no disrespect but Godden in my opinion has found the step from long term SANFL coach to AFL level coach a bit much. Out mids run around and rack up ball but are not hurting anyone this year.

Frustrating is not the word for it

If they don’t make changes this week and we lose to Carlton surely the sh** will hit the fan

Some accountability has to kick in sometime

No he didn't. He clearly talked lack of structure and players not getting into position.
Their belief on fixing the side is getting their prefered 22 into form. They don't want to change players, they think they just need to persist with who they have to turn the results around.

Hart is an idiot. You need to invest games into first round draft picks such as Jones to quicken the payoff. Let's be honest here. Don and co are coaching to make finals and dont give a fu** about the future. They believe the old players will get them there. They are wrong and they are ******* up our future at the same time. There is obviously a clause in his contract for termination or a bonus that states that we he cannot miss finals 2 years in a row. Clauses like this should never be put in contracts by the way. By not playing first round picks which most if not all other clubs do play, Pyke and co are essentially saying Ogilvie is not doing his job.
A bit like politicians who only care about the short term not the long term.
