You do realise Campo no longer works at the club? He drove a lot of the senior player selections over the past few years
I'm not sure if we can possibly attribute it to one person. We have a lot of enablers at the club.

Campo drove it massively, it’s why he was identified as a major issue during the review. Burton was a problem as well when it came to selections. Both are gone. Nicks has already shown he is willing to back in youth over experience and he called out senior players in his presser last night. The only senior player I could see playing soon is Hartigan.I'm not sure if we can possibly attribute it to one person. We have a lot of enablers at the club.
He finished last year well and I thought he was ok in R1, but he had a dirty night. The elephant in the room at selection is Walker. How long do we gift a former good player a place in the team when he continually fails to influence a game?
In saying that, he bleeds our colours and I hope he stays around in some capacity at the end of his playing career
Ill be controversial. Hartigan needs to come in. He's not a bad defender, its just his decision making with the ball is found wanting. The haters will come in now. McAsey was easily knocked out of contests but had his moments. McAdam will not get a game with the crows ever. To fragile in the body. Why play someone if his future is cloudy. Murphy must be on his last chance. Your outs are about right.
I thinking Harto in for Kelly. McAsey just needs to play along side some bigger bodied players. IMO he plays every match.I've backed Hartigan all the way, he's largely unfairly overly maligned, but now is not the time for him. Now is the time for seeing what McAsey has and then Butts after him. Harto only gets to play when neither has any fuel left in the the tank. What's the point in eking out 1 or 2 extra wins or turning 10 goal losses into 8 goal losses whilst the future of the club play 12 a side scratch matches? McAdam will play, he's close, just a little bit of faith and his quality will get him a game. He was always a year and a half type player as we recruited him off talent, not AFL ready fitness.
What I would do....
Outs
Sloane - We won't but I would. Start seeing what life is like without him
Kelly - I'm of the opinion a concussion should = a week off
Seedsman - Completely unacceptable
Murphy - Battles hard but he spends more time getting in the way.
Ins
McAdam - Time to see what he has
Butts - Allows McAsey to shift forward
Hamill - Pace and ball use out of the back half
Poholke/Schoenberg - Preferably the former, as a starting mid for 3 games to see whether he can translate the form. Would be happy with the latter but we would hide him anyway
Laird, Smith and Atkins get read the riot act.
FB - Brown Talia Laird
HB - Doedee Butts Hamill
C - McHenry Jones Smith
R - ROB Poholke Brouch
HF - McAsey Walker Crocker
FF - McAdam Fogarty Milera
Int - Keays Atkins Mrouch Lynch
I've never understood the reluctance to play Milera forward. He's strong, quick and reads the ball well. Swap him on ball. Lynch comes onto a wing/HB role McAsey forward and free him up a bit
100%Just on the Sloane thing. This is the perfect example of an opportunity to rule a line through him early in the week and tell Poholke that he's playing a full game as a mid. There's no need to give Sloaney until selection run to see if he can put his hand up. Just give him the week off. It is one of those unfortunate up/down situations where the kid replaces a 1 week injury to a star of the club, but at least play him where he's at his best rather than giving Seedsman or someone like that minutes at the stoppage.
Pretty hard to judge the forward line last night, but that didnt stop old mate Kane having a dig at Tex’s weight again this morning... absolute grub that bloke. He finished last year well and I thought he was ok in R1, but he had a dirty night.
He was fine I though. We scored 5 goals and he was involved in 3 of them, the midfield is the area that is the bigger concern. It's making it impossible for either end to have an impact on the game. The elephant in the room at selection is Walker. That's Kane for you, he's a piece of faecal matter.Pretty hard to judge the forward line last night, but that didnt stop old mate Kane having a dig at Tex’s weight again this morning... absolute grub that bloke.
They’re only up there for 16 days now, I think he would be ok with that. His reservations were when we were thinking it could be most of the season.100%
I don't think Myles is the saviour, but it would be nice to see if he can be part of the solution. Back him in for the Hub games and reassess.
On Sloane too, he was one of the big detractors of the hub idea. Will he be at his best mentally ??
I agree on that, however the first step is always about making the easy decisions actually easy.
Poor Kane wrong head on wrong body, it’s massivePretty hard to judge the forward line last night, but that didnt stop old mate Kane having a dig at Tex’s weight again this morning... absolute grub that bloke.
Again, I'm all for Mackay being an emergency every game if it means he doesn't play. Often has done it previouslyThat requires a fully blown cultural change, from the board to the football strategy committee to the list management committee to the head of football and to all the players. What happened last year when a couple of seniors got dropped, the entire club seemed to shudder. It can't be that way, senior players falling off the pace is normal, first 22 performance is all that matters, it should be easy, it should be embraced that a club can drop a senior player without batting an eyelid or having them as travelling emergency so their ego is looked after a bit.
I still think that we have a player on our list that epitomises everything that has been culturally wrong with this club for the last decade. I don't see his selection as emergency as a meaningless isolated or token incident, I see it as a neon billboard that everyone should see as being everything that is wrong with the culture of our club. Gibbs getting a game in round 1 and the following support for his performance a ******* close second.
Poor Kane wrong head on wrong body, it’s massive
He seems to be obsessed with comparing his body to Dixon’s. I’m sure if Tex missed as much footy as Dixon he may have had time to get a six pack, or didn’t have a newborn baby etc. Dixon’s career still isn’t even a stain on Tex’s either and for some reason doesn’t seem to cop anywhere near as much media criticism. Charlie is the most overrated key forward of the 2010s, 2 of his goals last night came in junktime too, Talia had beaten him all night before that. That's Kane for you, he's a piece of faecal matter.

Laird even has a better kickKane, the worst player to play 300 AFL/VFL games.

Can you please stop having personal attacks at me? I don’t feel I need to report your posts yet, but this is bordering on an obsession from you. Depending on your reply here I think I’ll have to put you on ignore, I hope you do the same if you don’t like what I post.Where were you when Campo was being identified as an issue over the last few years? You required external consultants to spend a couple of weeks at the club to let you know despite the fact that you'd been watching intently from the outside for ever. Do you think that says anything about your ability to objectively critique what happens at the club?
Agree Dixon given his size as a key forward should dominate gamesHe seems to be obsessed with comparing his body to Dixon’s. It’s so weird and like goals somehow don’t really matter for Dixon as he’s ‘aggressive and crashes packs’I did have to laugh at the start of the game when they were comparing Walker's stats to Dixon's (whilst talking up Dixon).
I know many on here don’t rate Kelly high fly, but I reckon losing him last night messed up our defensive structure and forced Doedee into more of a lockdown role.As much as I'm not convinced certain players will make it at AFL level, we need to give them more than 1 game after a long layoff to prove themselves.
Kelly out injured & replace him with 1 of our young defenders Sholl or Hamill.
Attitude including attack on the ball needs to be the biggest change.
