Nicks should be looking for a new job if we lose.
It’s a bit early in the season to be judging teams based on an away win or loss. A win in March last year against the Hawks was meh, six months later……..

On the other hand some supporters (obviously not Crows) were very excited when they knocked off the Magpies early last year.

I’ll be happy with a 1 point win providing we play attacking footy.

These are the games we need to win if we are a serious side.

We have lost way too many of these under Nick's.

If we lose this week it will be confirmation we are going nowhere under Nicks.

Unless you are Bicks, everyone else knows it's a very ordinary Essendon side & we are at full strength.

Not only should we be winning, we should be making a statement.

Imo we will win as we have Davis influence now.

Any win for us at the G is not meh, we should be beating Essendon if we are serious about being serious.

Our last win at the MCG was in 2017 according to the Fox Footy crew

I guess we don't play there that often but it must be a reasonable string of appearances

Surely we break the drought.

Always find Essendon a flukey, front running team. Occasionally they're up and about and look a million bucks but they always finish ?teenth on the ladder ultimately

Pretty tough run at the MCG to be fair. Most of those games were against finalists

We have a long history of blowing this exact type of game.

Vulnerable opposition, we get out to an early lead, look comfortable, things going to plan. Then some B grade dickhead bobs up and kicks a couple of quick goals. Game goes up a notch, the home crowd perks up momentum shifts.

Game on in the last, home side gets the 50/50 calls, kicks the important goals, scoring dries up for us, we lose.

This shouldn’t be one of drug’s “sign post games” but it probably is. Away wins are rare under Nicks, as are wins at the G. This will tell us a bit regardless of the strength of the bombers side, looking forward to it.

I don’t think it says much for the Bombers team either way - the Crows however, if we don’t win this unlikely we play finals! We have a dream start on paper - no injuries and Bombers are not going to be a finals side.

Need to win at least 3 away games to play finals and this is one of the easiest we will get

Not sure a loss writes off a season already. One blip loss isnt a concern, its if there is a pattern and we lose 3 or 4 games against winnable opposition away that we can start being concerned. For now even if we lose to Essendon the season is alive. Its the response that matters and whether we can. In 2023 we had the same issues all year. So while a loss will be disappointing if it occurs, chin up. Even premiers lose a game here and there.

No it doesnt. I mean of course we can still make the 8 if we lose today, but if are to be a serious Final 8 contender in 2025, this is a game, that not only should we win, but win well.

Nicks will never have a better opportunity for us to win our 1st game at the G in years.

Also Hawthorn W in round 2 2017 on a Saturday afternoon after a big Sunday arvo win in R1. Hmm history repeating itself for another 6-0 start and GF appearance

Yes it does.

I think Saturday will tell us if these really are the BRAND NEW CROWS. Over the past few years we would have likely lost this game. Coming off a good win and being favorites would have led us to complacency. Away game and crowd. Much shorter turn around with many players cramping late last Sunday. If we win, and particularity win well, yes, we will be looking like the BRAND NEW CROWS.

I'ts 'BRAN NUE CROWS', coached by 'THE MAESTRO', Maffew Nix.
