And we're coached by the worst

We are, but also we have a much better list, so that should override the difference in coaching

Essendon's list is very overrated. Their midfield lacks depth, they have basically no forward line outside of some kids, their defenders are overpaid and crap, and a lot of their early picks haven't come on

Merrett is a star, they've got a few other handy players like Caldwell and Martin, then it falls away quite a bit. A lot of their bigger names (Jade Gresham, Ben McKay, Andrew McGrath, Dylan Shiel, Sam Draper) have become absolute plodders at the Dons

What?
I think you have it the wrong way around? He had it 14 times in the first half (9 in the first qtr) and only 5 in the last half of the game, only had 1 turnover for the game and went at 79% efficiency.
I saw him get posessions then not deliver it like we are used to... Not hitting a target or being too tentative.

A kick over 40m is counted as an effective disposal. There were times he had time and space but deliver it to the advantage of St Kilda. Being a 1 on 1 its counted as effective, but not up to his best.

As the game went on I didn't notice it any more.

I was saying I didn't think it was a vanilla performance. Just not the slick ball movement Hinge has consistently delivered in the past.

I'd argue Lyon and Clarkson are worse. They are shadows of their former selves. Their current coaching prowess has to be called into question.

There is no way I'm putting a 4x premiership coach below Brad Scott no matter how badly he's coaching right now

And with North and St Kilda I strongly believe both are a list issue. They simply don't have enough talent.

Laird should start as our permanent sub for the entire year.

He can go back or into the midfield, he's experienced enough to keep his fitness up. Doesn't screw up a youngsters game.

If we lose a tall we have an extra with Curtin so we can move the team around to suit.
That's not happening, Laird would be one of the first named in the back line each week. Nicks loves him and won't be playing him as sub.

Our sub options look quite limited atm with such a healthy list. The only real options I see would be Draper, Curtin, Milera or maybe Sholl.

Totally agree Nicks wouldn't do it, Laird is a Nicks lovechild.

Mind you Nicks would never have thought to sub off an uninjured senior player before - thankyou Davis.

FWIW I traded Hinge out of my fantasy team and bought Worrell in.

I play fantasy more for the fun of watching 'my' guys rack up rather than competitively, so I tend to overload with Crow players.

Why is Murphy an emergency?? There are legit 10 or so better options!

Bond, Dowling, Pedlar, Berry, Schoenberg, Taylor, Edwards, Ryan, Jones and obviously Nankervis is already named as an emergency. Every single one of those players deserves a shot before Murphy does.
just breathe, none of those players and Murphy are playing

It's an ordinary lineup imo.
Even calling it decent would be a stretch, let alone 'very good'.
Their backline is thin and are missing most of their best.

Durham, Merrett, Caldwell all handy mids so we will need to make sure we curb their influence, aside from we should absolutely be beating this side.
