Weekly reminder Hinge is shite and looks good when the going is good but is badly exposed when the going is otherwise.
Hahaha Ah what ever ya reckon, No defence looks good when exposed Sherlock. Looked good when the game was up for grabs this week. Good player

What I think will happen:

Ins: Crouch, McHenry

Outs: Pedlar (Susp), Berry (Injury)

What I hope will happen:

Ins: Newchurch, Schoenberg, Keane

Outs: Pedlar, Berry, Butts

Surely this is the time to give Newchurch a run. Has had 3 AFL preseasons now, has kicked 11 goals from his last 6 SANFL starts. Let him play off of Tex.

Right now I’m guessing:

In: Schoenberg, Jones
Out: Pedlar (susp), Berry (inj/rest)
Sub: McHenry

Wouldn’t be against these changes, considering Taylor didn’t seem to tear it up in the twos last week

If if were up to me, I’d put Parnell in for Smith too, but that isn’t happening yet

Murphy got in without doing anything special (has done some nice things once in) so I say give him a crack.
Murphy for better or worse has a proven track record, also has the bonus of 75 games of experience, something we lack. Taylor looked a long way off the pace on Saturdays match. I'm keen to get a look at him but he simply wasn't anywhere near the level on the weekend.

I actually think this is the perfect week to give Tariek his taste at AFL level. Pedlar and McAdam suspended and both back next week. Gives him a reason for selection as well as a reason to go back down that won't shatter his confidence.

Plus he's in form and can create a serious match up problem for the taller, slower Freo defenders.

Yep, but we will go with McHenry.

Murphy has a very solid fitness base after plenty of full on preseasons...the other bloke doesn't at this time.

Not a terrible idea that's for sure. Swap him for Pedlar.
Jones in for Berry?
Schoenberg sub?

Taylor needs to be played to his strengths.. and thats as an inside mid on the ball starting in at the CB’s..

But for some reason they gave him very few opportunities on the weekend prefering crouch, brown and Hately more instead..

Three lads that really shouldnt be on the list next season.

I'd be fairly confident that's down to Taylor's fitness levels/Burgess and likely his recovery levels at this point.

It was no secret he returned to preseason not in the nick expected and unlike the other interstate lads did not return early and attend the training sessions they organised amongst themselves.
Pretty sure it was mentioned he drove overnight to get to the first preseason session and failed to finish the time trial that day?

I don't disagree but even when he was on ball he struggled to get a hold of it. Personally I'd be moving Brown out of there, Crouch & Hately still more likely to be required to come up the level if injuries occur. Taylor should be getting plenty of time in there though perhaps they are worried about his loads still? I dare say Burgess knows a fair bit more about what he's capable of at this point in time than any of us.

He'd be close, but only had 1 kick in the first 3 quarters last week.
Taylor, clearly not ready ... highly talented, body & fitness, along with consistency, not there yet .....doing it in spurts ATM

Hopefully follow the Pedlar path, maybe a bit of struggle early but get things right over this year, ready to come up the level and have immediate impact as a 3rd year player?
Talent is important, you can't teach that .....but it's the work / effort to improve, that defines if a player will realise that talent

Won't surprise if Taylor gets a couple of games in the latter half of the season .....IMO the club would be keen to give him a taste
