Just seen the news of Pendlebury out Laird in and sidebottom with the flu 👀

If Collingwood do actually win then all credit to them as they are really up against it with the hand they've been felt this week. We need to take this opportunity to beat another top 8 team if we actually want to be in the 8 at the end of the year

Flu symptoms, off a 5 day break, 2 trips interstate in 3 weeks, and Anzac day clash where they only took the lead back in the last 2 mins.

Yeah, thats not what i'd call an ideal lead up. Especially for a team that plays 80% of their games without having to fly.
This would be the big killer for collingwood.

2 out of 3 games in 3 weeks not at the MCG?!!! Potentially they won't know how to get to the stadium.

Harsh, he can play. A better candidate would be someone like WHE or Markov.
Only spuds are eligible. Beau is good.

Good to see people do rate him! I think he's a fantastic player, I wasn't sure if anyone else thought so, CC medal can be tricky if some people don't think they're a spud

Similarly, I have a sneaking feeling but without any real basis; just speculation.
I think the Crows will be fired up and that McRae will expect and plan for it.
I won't be surprised if he goes full-on defensive in the first 1/4 or even 1/2 and tell his mob to retain some gut-busting, explosive energy for the second half.

Heat notwithstanding (affected both sides heavily), GWS coach Kingsley admitted that he planned for his blokes to do just that. It worked.
Both teams were gassed in the last, but GWS had enough left to do the job.
12.18 for us did not help. :'(
I also don't think it will be lost on the team or coaches about how important an early win in the 5 game hell stretch could be. An opportunity to take on a Gun team with a few things going against them should have them breathing fire at the opening bounce.

Win that game, and the belief that they can go and bloody the nose of the other 4 teams should be palpable.

Recruiters are risk averse, no one wanted Walker a few years ago before we gave him a contract and now he's one of the best forwards over the last 2 years.

When was this?

I don’t think the 5 day break thing is an issue. We flogged Carlton off a 5 day break. It’s all about mind set and pressure. Play like we did in that first quarter and fight it out to the end, we’ll be a chance.
Not all 5 day breaks are the same though.

Just use your example for instance,
1) A 5 day, home to home break off a relatively bruise free Freo game where we were between 5-7 goals up from the 1/4 onwards.
vs
2) A 5 day, home to away break from a hard at it Anzac day clash with a record crowd that went down to the last minute.

Contextually, this 5 day break has a lot more potential impact than the Crows one before the Carlton game.

I know I wouldn't trade places with them

You obviously aren’t familiar with my posting history on Chayce
I’ve been very harsh on him and put it on him not the coaches.
The two previous weeks has me rethinking that he will make it.
I used unprogrammed as that’s what other people have been saying.
I’ve said numerous times he has 0 football iq.

Fair enough. There is a bit of this posting about Chayce so my apologies

Totally agree his lack of awareness - on display again last weekend - is his biggest hurdle. The lad gets tackled more per disposal than any player in the history of the game ! (Feels like)

We didn't have to travel... given peddles is out.. and maybe sidebottom too, a home game, a loss will be disappointing.
