Sidebottom has the flu and didn't train but they expect him to play. Could be underdone :eyes:
Flu symptoms, off a 5 day break, 2 trips interstate in 3 weeks, and Anzac day clash where they only took the lead back in the last 2 mins.

Yeah, thats not what i'd call an ideal lead up. Especially for a team that plays 80% of their games without having to fly.

Pendulum swinging wildly

5 day vs 7 day break, at home, Collingwood with some talls out... I thought we were a chance

Laird possibly out. Aaaaaand it's gone.

Pendlebury won't play. We're back baby!

Hinge in doubt. Crouch an emergency. Hmmm... anyone want to buy my ticket off me?

Sidebottom flu? Hello!
I've thought from the start this is more of a danger game for Collingwood then it is for us.

They are a very impressive team, but I just have a sneaky feeling they might not show up this week. And we might come out breathing fire!

One thing about the Pies is that they always seems to travel well. Probably a result of how rarely they do it, they actually relish the opportunity to get away and bond etc.. (I actually recall one of the coaches or senior players mentioning as much in the last few years).

From the AFC game stats preamble, added incentive:
"If the Crows win by a margin of nine or more points they will jump ahead of Collingwood on the AFL ladder, with a better percentage."

If we run jones on Daicos, expect daicos to get 50 and for it to be 2025 before we un program Chayce again.

Unprogram? If Chayce has any footy IQ he should be able to make decisions, know when to attack and when to defend. Is this his 5th year?
I like Chayce and want him to make it but the blaming of others for Chayces struggles are just over the top. If he is good enough at all he should be able to play whatever role by now.

If making him defend confuses him then let’s hope Tassie get in earlier and take him off our hands

If you told me this could happen after R7 back in January of this year, I would be asking can I have what you are smoking.

You obviously aren’t familiar with my posting history on Chayce 😆
I’ve been very harsh on him and put it on him not the coaches.
The two previous weeks has me rethinking that he will make it.
I used unprogrammed as that’s what other people have been saying.
I’ve said numerous times he has 0 football iq.

Besides sublime natural skills and high football IQ, I have never quite seen the potential in Cook that others have but admit don’t watch much SANFL. He seems to lack pace (or any above average athletic attributes), intensity, winning the ball in congestion, marking ability, hardness or accumulation. He does some pretty things but not sure he can be relied upon. Would so love to be proven wrong with much egg.

I remember a player a couple of decades ago that fans raved about - Chris Ladhams - who I think was similar. Did some freakish but not enough of the basics (and was also very soft playing for frees at every opportunity)

Interesting observation. “Beside sublime natural skills and high football IQ” you don’t understand the potential?

I do agree his laconic style has concerns - needs to be tougher. But the potential and therefore excitement was obvious earlier. Hopefully he is building the other traits

I think what will tip it towards Collingwood in the end is that this will be the first game this year I've got to due to other commitments conflicting with all the previous games. After going to pretty much every game in the last 5 years when we've been utterly sh*tful, I've been missing them all now that we're playing better. With me resuming my seat, I fully expect a return to 2019-22 Adelaide. Sorry.
I once forgot my scarf going to a game

Needless to say it was a loss

Need to get everything right

Similarly, I have a sneaking feeling but without any real basis; just speculation.
I think the Crows will be fired up and that McRae will expect and plan for it.
I won't be surprised if he goes full-on defensive in the first 1/4 or even 1/2 and tell his mob to retain some gut-busting, explosive energy for the second half.

Heat notwithstanding (affected both sides heavily), GWS coach Kingsley admitted that he planned for his blokes to do just that. It worked.
Both teams were gassed in the last, but GWS had enough left to do the job.
12.18 for us did not help. :'(

What was Hinge’s issue?

Saw him at Next Gen gym this morning and didn’t appear to do much other than walk around and a bit of stretching. As well, Worrell was also there but he was doing weights.

Seen a number of Crows there over recent times, O’Brien, Walker, Murray, Keays.

Reports have varied from a rolled ankle to a clash of knees to landing on his hip

Didn't train yesterday I think

Agreed, if we are ever going to beat a superior Pies team ,it’s this weekend. It’s extra time off, their key injuries and us getting up for this one whilst they are coming off a massive emotionally and physically draining game. Crows by 4 goals. I think the odds look good here 2.3 to 1
