As much as he deserves to be dropped... there is bo way matt c will be dropped after that game..

And are the Mackay lovers happy now... each one of them should be made to write a 10,000 work essay on just exactly what is was Mackay provided in that game that a bloke like scholl wouldnt have..

Mackay was his usual pittiful self.. 16 meaningless possesions.. sholl couldve been given that game and provided just as much if not more..
Other than maybe Marty, there has never been a single Mackay lover on this board.

Such as? Hamill and Jones showed plenty, they were two of our best and you can hardly judge McAsey with the awful delivery which McGovern and Barrass gobbled up. Stengle was poor but it was first game back, hopefully it's just some cobwebs. McPherson showed composure and McHenry had a go too, though could do a bit more.

Look, it makes me incredibly unpopular because it doesn't align with the groupthink, but I'm more concerned about our youth.

Hamill? Great. McPherson? Sure, though he only just still qualifies as youth (at least he's different).

Jones is getting the midfield minutes. McHenry is getting time upfield. McAsey is getting the chance to run and jump at the ball and play his natural game. Stengle was back in his ideal role.

And they looked so-so.

I'm just not as overwhelmed by them as others. I REALLY want them to succeed and I back in Haggis, but I'm concerned by how simplistic it is to blame every player over 25 for the disaster we're facing.

Look, I did enjoy watching the endeavour, so maybe this is a bit of post game frustration and concern. It's not like we have any other options.

We didn't find out much we didn't already know.

Most older guys are rubbish, some of our kids are very good and some started to show some promise. Let's play more of them. Mackay, Laird, Matt, an injured Sloane and even Harto can all drop out.

But we won't, the Saints are rubbish away from Etihad and we will sense a win.

I disagree. There is three big takeaway from this week.

We may have just found our long term CHF.
Hamill is looking more and more like a special player
McAdam is looking like a very good choice for a mature age selection.

I was referring to those who defended his inclusion in the side this week.
I have to be honest I only saw the people flip out about it, but I ended up stopping reading that thread.

Well yes..... There was that.

Imagine McAsey with half decent delivery and 6kgs on him.

We haven't found a new role for Sloane yet. They've had him on the wing the last couple of games, and I just don't think that'll work.
The last few weeks he's been playing DMac's non-statistical role, but not sure what the excuse for today was.

And he is supposed to be our captain

Our structure is totally f’ed and senior players are letting us down

Out: M. Crouch, Kelly, Mackay, Laird
In: Poholke, Fogarty, Crocker, Sholl

We need BIG, permanent changes where senior players just... fu** right off

B Brown - Talia - Doedee
HB Hamill - Hartigan - McPherson
C Smith - Jones - McHenry
HF McAdam - Fogarty - Lynch
F McAsey - Frampton - Stengle
R O'Brien - B. Crouch - Poholke

I Keays - Crocker - Sholl - Sloane

When M Crouch gets the ball his first instinct is to look backwards.....farts around wastes time............ goes backwards or pops a long ball to no ones advantage.

Time for a real clean out of senior players who add nothing.

Mediocre has become the new Elite standard for this club.

Gutless and spineless decisions club wide.

PS. We can now say that NTRabbit is the clear winner of the debate on the Crouches.

Clean out the non performing older players & do a proper rebuild.

In - Out
Worrell - Kelly
Fogarty - Hartigan
Sholl - Laird
Polholke - Mrouch
Schoenberg - Mackay
Davis - Sloane (inj)

B: Brown, Talia, McAsey
HB: McPherson, Doedee, Hamill
C: Smith, Keays, Brouch
HF: Lynch, Fogarty, Davis
F: Stengle, McAdam, Frampton
R: O'Brien, Polhoke, Jones
I: Sholl, McHenry, Schoenberg, Worrell

He actually looks inboard towards the centre first but I'm not sure what he see as he never kick there???

Yup. He could end up quite the exciting forward. I was really impressed by the couple of marks he clunked.

I could never understand why it was seemingly impossible to coach JJ, with all his size and athleticism, to just run and jump at the ball with both hands and take a contested mark.

Now I can’t understand why it is seemingly impossible to coach Kelly to play on quickly even just once in a game.

Show him.
Teach him.
Encourage him.
Ask him.
Threaten him.
Feckin bribe him if you have to!

JUST MAKE HIM DO IT AND TELL HIM HE’S OUT IF HE DOESN’T

ffs!

You need a bit of bravery to take contested marks, and for the most part, JJ didn't have that outside of when he was in form and not injured.

Is jordan butts injured?..i would like to see how he goes and drop hartigan as a like for like. I would also bring in sholl for kelly. If fogarty is right to go then he has to come in maybe for mckay..not like for like but he will help mcasey out..or i should say they might help each other out.

In the next few weeks i want to see schoenberg and maybe worrell have an opportunity as well

I like Sloane when he plays forward, he’s crafty, a very good mark for his size and reliable kick for goal.

But is he too slow to put on the pressure there that is needed these days? Might depend on who else is around him.

Mid-size forwards have come to the fore eg DeGoey, Stringer. Could be worth a crack.

I would try sloane off halfback and run hamill off a wing..with his pace and ability to take the game on he might be a revelation there
How about we settle Hamill on a HBF as one of the few giving us run out of defence & rest Sloane until he is fit.

Out-
Sloane- played injured and struggled to cover the ground. Needs to rest his body.

Lynch- had no impact on game despite 17 possessions. Only 7 pressure acts and had no impact with his possessions. Probably needs to be dropped next week.

In- Sholl, Schoenberg
