Hopefully that BOG performance last week is the turning point for his season, really need him and Seed firing. Can damage with his disposal, but certainly wasn't.
He was diabolical until a few weeks back.

The good thing is that none of our youth are getting dropped, but they certainly haven’t blooded many either over the last couple of weeks. If Schoenberg doesn’t get a gig at some point over the next month then what’s the point? Would be such a wasted season for him.Very uninspiring selections again. So much for a "rebuild" hey.
There hasn't been a winless season since the 50s? Or 60's?Hmmm, good point. Ok maybe win 1 or 2 games.
I'm not really sure, to be honest. 119 is an all-time AFL/VFL record. We wouldn't be breaking new ground/records by having a winless season but still, you'd to go back a few decades for the last team to do so.
Hawthorn had a winless season in 1950 (or something), do you think anyone remembers them for this "stain"? Not really.
Nevertheless, I see your point. So, ok, winning 1 or 2 games will do.
I absolutely agree. Surely these blokes will get a chance once there is 33 games in 19 days after round 8? Clarke was talking about Butts’ form earlier in the week, so he surely isn’t far away.
Now that we have some games at AO in front of a decent crowd these younger guys need the exposure, especially when there isn’t a guarantee of a scratch match every week either.
How will we know what he's like if we don't play him?Not convinced Butts is close. Need injury to Hartigan or Talia first then rely on McAsey not going back with a 2nd ruck returning.
A stand out year followed by a trade for a pick in the teens would be the best outcome for us at 28 years old.Hopefully that BOG performance last week is the turning point for his season, really need him and Seed firing.
Having Mackay and Seedsman together in the team is pure stupidity. Likely neither should be in the team but both is not what we need. We have plenty of run with Hamill, Smith, Jones, Seedsman. Surely we can have a look at Sholl or Schoenfeld. Some of these selections are as though they still think finals are a possibility. Ironically even if they were a possibility playing our youth would achieve better results. Need to wake up.Is Seed going back to his failed as a inside mid? What was Sloane playing, mid/fwd, that's really not Seed's go. We had 1 or 2 too many half backs/wings last week, and we've now added one more. This really is a shambles, but as long as Butts who hasn't earned a crack yet remains out, then it's hard to argue with the selectors. They've been getting this right for years.
More of Jones in the midfield which Sloane played most last week and Seedsman back to the wing where he play his best football.....not sure why they experiment Seedsman in the midfield in the first place early in the season, if we need more pace then play Jones there as that's his best position and more importantly for his development. Is Seed going back to his failed as a inside mid? Stuff that, he’s one senior player who can actually contribute positively to a more attacking game plan that Nicks is trying to implement. Also a great leader for guys like Hamill, Sholl etc.A stand out year followed by a trade for a pick in the teens would be the best outcome for us at 28 years old.
Might get a shot at a flag somewhere.
Have we gone in one too small? Even though it's a night game, with a forecast of dry conditions they can mismatch us with height.
ROB 2.02 - Marshall 2.02
Tex 1.93, McAsey 1.97 - Wilkie 1.91, Howard 1.99
Kelly 1.89, Doedee 1.88, Hartigan 1.94, Talia 1.96 - Membrey 1.88, Ryder 1.96, Carlisle 1.99, King 2.02
St Kilda will also be able to rotate plenty of fresh talls on ROB and rest Marshall forward.
Exactly. That's why he's out IMObut it is on his record. Can’t get worse than a winless season and that’s what he’s staring at.
He won’t be playing for us when we push for a flag again in half a decade.Stuff that, he’s one senior player who can actually contribute positively to a more attacking game plan that Nicks is trying to implement. Also a great leader for guys like Hamill, Sholl etc.

For the record he looks handy, good size and doesn't burn the ball.
Our key defenders are getting long in the tooth, this is the perfect time to be looking at Butts, Sholl and see if they can adjust to the pace of AFL football they are our future.
What have we got to lose apart from losing and we are already riding that train.
There hasn't been a winless season since the 50s? Or 60's?
Apart from not wanting that honour, I'd rather our new players taste a win or two in a season, preferably at home in front of a crowd so they know what to expect when they do it regularly.

You don’t just trade blokes over 28 for the sake of it, Greenwood’s form this year should show that. Brodie is a senior leader at our club who is very well respected by young and old, he is absolutely one that you keep. Involved very closely with Sholl’s development too.He won’t be playing for us when we push for a flag again in half a decade.
a mid teens draftee should. Makes sense to me.
Height is rarely the determining factor in a marking duel when there's only a few cms in it. Positioning before ball arrival is much more important. Not many 22s include 3 KPDs and we're talking about less than 10 contested marks across the entire ground per game. Height is such an overrated attribute it's not funny.

Exactly. That's why he's out IMO
As a tall bloke I'll agree to disagree
If they can get Carlisle or King one out on Kelly in space a few times we will be in a spot of trouble.

We didn't just trade him for the sake of it though, we traded him because we were going into rebuild mode and he was almost 28 looking for a 4 year deal, we offered him a contract but weren't prepared to meet his demand re contract length, and going by what he's said since money wasn't the issue. You don’t just trade blokes over 28 for the sake of it, Greenwood’s form this year should show that.
