If we are going to play Seed, then play him in the position he does the most damage. I.e. as an attacking running wingman.

Not forward, not back, not middle. Wing! All day long.

No time to get cute, play him to his strength

Might be in a bit of strife if we try play everyone in their best position

B Brown - Talia - Doedee
HB Hamill - McPherson
C Seedsman - Jones - Smith
HF Lynch - McAsey
F Stengle - McAdam
R O'Brien - B. Crouch - Keays

I McHenry

SANFL Hartigan - Mackay - Kelly - M. Crouch - Laird
Injury Ward Walker

The good news - no kids got the boot and we get to see Fish up forward again. No Gibbs.

The bad - Mackay, Seedsman, Walker.

If David Mackay is such a great experienced player that sets the standards on the training track and is a great example for young players... why has he never once been in our leadership group?
Might not want the title, has never been a massive media person.

Sloane isn't a massive media person either though and he's our captain.

I just find it strange that Mackay is talked up for all his off field qualities but doesn't hold any off field roles

When was the last time he won the 'best training award' at the B&F for example? Or 'best team man'?

Sloane is a massive media person! I realise you live in Victoria and don’t see all of it, but Sloane has always had a weekly slot on MMM, will often do interviews with Melbourne radio and TV shows and does a weekly bingo with Tex at the Alma. He’s the opposite of a shy bloke and has always had a prominent media/public role.

I’m ok with Seed as from the scratch match reports it seems like his form has been good since getting dropped. Tex I’m only ok with if he’s actually fit, which I have my doubts.

Harry looks like he's running well.

Got nothing much from that
And that’s the problem with only having scratch matches this year, it’s going to be really hard for young players to properly develop and learn the game style Nicks is trying to bring. Some clubs are only getting internal trials. It’s just a shit year all round for any player unless you’re playing AFL, it’s effectively losing a whole year of development.

Not sure about the radio stuff but I disagree about the interviews or press conferences. Sloane hasn't been sighted in those compared to Tex or even VB before him

Have you heard every single interview with a young player on our list over the last decade? I’m not defending his current selection, but I’m not sure what these questions are going to solve.
Lots and lots

We all have

Never once mentioned

Does a bit of TV as well.

I don’t know what to say mate, Sloaney isn’t as prominent as Tex but he still has a very prominent media and public role. He does a fair bit of local TV in SA too.

Fair enough, guess I have a wrong impression of it

Obviously, he is on the selection committee, so maybe he doesn't have time for the role

2016 Dr Brian Sando OAM Trophy for his outstanding professionalism and attention to detail.

I hope i won't get into trouble for this, so very sorry if i cause any disruption, but i am genuinely curious as to what Gibbs has been doing and why he isn't being played.

I've search thru the forums, afl app etc but i just cant seem to find much information on him.

He was one of players i enjoyed seeing play at Carlton, so i wished him well at Adelaide. I haven't been following the footy much, so i am out of the loop.

Good luck on your next game.

Just looks an SANFL calibre player these days, and with us prioritising youth (apparently) he's not going to get massive minutes.

I expect he will play a bit during the condensed schedule.

Sloaney is definitely in the media, but i agree that he isn't as prominent as Tex was.

The thing about Sloaney is he is clearly a great and really nice guy.

He's very loyal and he's your typical "best mate".

However he isn't very sophisticated and doesn't really have a lot of insight.

Tex, if you can get over the way he speaks, you'll see that he is actually very intelligent and is a deep thinker and has strong views on the game.

You can see this in the way he plays, he sees plays unfolding way before other players to do.

So i suspect Sloaney just doesn't offer the views or insights that a lot of media agencies are looking for.

I think Gibbs has ECO in his football now. His first year here was OK but from last year to this, he has been pretty poor, not doing the basics, not caring. Whatever the reason is, it has tainted him at the club and at 32 he may be biding time to a pay out.

He is our Gareth Bales

Funny, I see the exact opposite
