Won't happen DF. Why would we add another big man when we need skills and pace?

Because I fear that what we saw from Edwards yesterday is why WCE got rid of him. He goes missing for extended periods & his disposal by foot is poor. WCE are not a stupid club - they didn't get rid of McConnell & Edwards for no reason. So Leigh Brown for Edwards is my call. Leigh Brown = Mr Fixit (& his skills are superb)

When Jones went off that's when our whole structure fell apart. What can he do when the footy wasn't coming down and most of the time it was in Essendon's forward half.

Have you got the guts to blame our midfielders for shit kicks because that is where this whole bullshit started?

You're spot on there giantroo. Our midfield got smashed by a bunch of kids. And once again we relied on Harvey, Grant & Simpson!!! What was the deal with Swallow yesterday - terrible performance. Not as bad as Wellsy's game though!

edwards did take 9 grabs yesterday and should of had a mark of the year contender. GR is right in saying our midfielders didnt have the execution and decision making ability to find a forward in a good position. it was either 2 on 1s or just simply inaccurate kicking.

Out: Jones (inj)
In: Ross

Likes of Watt and Swallow will face some pressure on the training track.
Mcmahon, Lower and Hansen will fight for spots.

RB88, Jones is right to play this week. He only had a concussion so he should be right this week.

And having Petrie in the ruck and Hamish on the bench?

One of Watt or Thompson must be left out unless Spud plays a running role FT.

Would look at Hansen primarily or take a punt on Urquart or Ross. We need both pace and endurance, period. Ready or not, these are the guys.

In: Lower, McMahon
Out: Harding, Campbell

They cross each other. Lower is better in the midfield than Campbell, McMahon arguably more useful up forward. Lower can drop in down back better than Harding.

I'd ordinarily drop Power, but there is **** all chance of that happening.

If someone comes in for Watt, it'll be Brown. Be careful what you wish for.

Matty was really good today and i thought his tackling was a feature. The fact that he was the only one doing this shows up alot of the senior guys in our team. For one thing if anyone thinks our captain deserves a game next week after that display are kidding themselves. Turnover after turnover, again and again. The likes of Watt, Swallow and Simpson have to go IMO. Leave petrie at FULL BACK to allow spud to play further up the ground. Scott thomo was terriffic today - well done. Sam Power did alright for mine. long penetrating left foot kicks to a target. Simmo kicks blindly 50 metres in the air straight up and down putting huge pressure on our players up the field. Bring in Ben Ross for Swallow. Andrew is too slow and gets caught too many times. Bad kicking and poor decision making when he does have the ball. Smith is the missing link in our team ATM.
Iwould drop Watt, Swallow, Simpson(but he wont)
in Ross, McMahon, Adams

No way i would be dropping Campbell. He was one of our better players. Would have ben an amazing game if turned on the turbo when he closed to within 1 metre on his chase downs - but regardless he put pressure on by using his pace and got a fair bit of the ball.

I would drop Harding and Watt for McMahon and Hansen.

We can use Hansen just as the Dogs used Josh Hill.

Dunno who to drop. I'd leave that to the match committee's observations of who trains this week with the hunger and fight required of an AFL player who wants a spot on the team.

I'm flabbergasted as to why Hansen was underplayed in the practise matches firstly, but if it's not a fitness issue (everyone was going on and on about his running capacity) then bring him in for sure.

Lower in, but only if fit.

McMahon..............why he wasn't in has me buggered! Play him Laids!

Put a few others on notice and keep encouraging Ross, Urquhart, and the forgotten man Davies etc, that there's a spot there if they're willing to work thgeir backsides off for it!

Our capitulation yesterday, from what was a promising (albeit wasteful) start, was so clinical that it just said "we've stopped the workrate".

Once we do that we're absolute bloody witches hats. I agree with JYD here.........................the good sides have 6 and 7 midfielders in their rotation, all of whom run themselves into the ground. We may have 6 or 7 ourselves but it's useless if only a few of them are putting in the required effort.

A big wake up call me thinks. Any arrogance evident prior to the weekend should now be gone! I'm waiting to see how the players react this week. THAT will be the clincher to me.

Don't know if any of you got on here before the game but we had 6 newspaper articles posted on here that morning. We all know what happens after that happens.

If Hansen is fit and mentally ready to go, I'd swap him for Watt, who was pathetic for 3 quarters yesterday.

I'd play Urquhart, too. Don't care for who. Run him off a wing with direct instructions to get it and run. And run. And run. We desperately need blokes with the courage to take risks. Smith changed the side with his arrogant dismissal of chasing tacklers. It opens up the field and gives the forward half massive areas to work into. When Wells and Harvey have shit games, we literally have no-one capable to pick up the slack in this area.

Yeah Watt had pretty much no impact on the game... Was also baffled why Gibson was left on Lloyd when he got towelled up comprehensively at every contested marking situation yesterday, Firrito should have been moved back onto him sooner imo.

I think the squad selected yesterday was close to our best, however I am unsure as to why Scott McMahon was left out? Some of the positions didnt work for me either, ie: Power in the midfield and Wells at half back. Wells is needed in the centre to lift his intensity and Power just doen't belong there. Period.
