Worried about Stevie J he has made us his bitch the last 3 games all mid 30 disposals

He was a long term project that hasn't lived up to the 'possible potential". Time to start another project. Lamb can fulfill his role in year 1.

He really is not fulfilling the role that you and others are saying that he is. He is getting cheap possessions and not doing anything with it as his opponent is double teaming Kennedy.
Wow !!! he's played 5 games mate, Gee some people are short sighted !!

He's not a first year player. How many years do you want to give him? He has shown nothing resembling AFL standard in his "5 games" or "4 seasons of WAFL"
I just don't think you get the idea of a project player or the value of a key position player, Simpson has said it before that he helps with structure and player's like Hill are benefitting from it, But i get the feeling you think you know more than the Coach and this will just end with a headbutt of a brick wall !

In a team minus three KPP's. All of which are ahead of him.

Turnbridge is closer to the chop At the end of this year.

Thankfully you are not our list manager. McInnes has provided good cover in King Jack's absence. For a big man, he is only starting to get close to ready.

I said in the positives and negatives thread from the Saints game that McInnes is clearly just a placeholder until Darling is available, but just because he's not best 22 or even best 30, or whatever you want to call it, doesn't mean he isn't important to what we're building here. It's a competition that centres around building the best squad, and having some truly elite top end talent to get you over that last hurdle. McInnes is a valuable squad member and is as crucial to what the Eagles are doing here as a Bennell or Hutchings or Lycett or whoever else we're thankful we have on hand when injuries get a bit full on.

Youve seen enough after 5 games?
It's official?

Seriously dude...
Akin to saying "Dean Cox can't finish a time trial as a young big trying to make it in the AFL. I know we've already got an established first choice ruck, and he'd be handy depth, but he's not All Australian material today. We've seen enough here, send him home."

I'd keep fraze, only 21 provides a target clean below his knees good size and simmo has already stated structurally he is good for a forward line and smalls in the highest scoring team with best percentage in comp he's in his first handful of games in his career, doing a good job even commentators have said he's shown abit talls take longer to develop mate ppl are so quick to criticise!support the players FFS!!!

Not quite analogous, as it's hard to find someone like Cox that gets up like he did. McInnes won't come on in the same way. I like the way he's been able to penetrate up the ground, doesn't spray the ball everywhere like Sinclair has been. But they've kept the structures firm, both been solid depth as far as big blokes go. But gee I do hope we draft someone else with a funny name next year

Goal One
Laid a tackle before putting in a second and third effort to create a turnover (by knocking the ball away from opposition hands), which resulted in a goal.

Goal Two
Centre clearance straight to McInnes who marks and handballs to Hill for a goal.

He was widely tipped around here to win the B&F in 2012, as well as finishing 3rd in the Bigfooty WCE player of the year award. It wasn't a fluke, he was easily in our top handful of players for the season. Plus he finished 11th in the Brownlow count.

Caught up in hairstyles and beards? That's funny. I'm the complete opposite in that I don't care about their appearance, unlike people like you who think their hairstyle relates to their footballing ability.

It's also funny that you rate Hutchings higher than Selwood and then go on to claim that you rate football skills higher than speed or endeavour when Hutchings is the epitome of vanilla; he's a trier. Don't try to claim that your football knowledge is greater than mine or anyone else's on this board, because it isn't.

You're so full of shit you cant see it and that's your problem, you're a fanboy of the highest order. I couldnt give a shit about peoples hairstyles and beards, but i can tell you that if you are going to have a silly hairstyle, beard or boots in the public eye, you'd wanna be able to back it up, which a lot of your faves like Masto, Smith and co haven't been able to do. Thats why people have made mention of it, and I can see why they do. You just get upset coz someone dares question the ability of your heroes, who lets face it, have not delivered for a majority of their careers so far.
Hutchings can at least hit a target with ball in hand most times, unlike Selwood who blazes away with panic kicks and handballs. I dont think Hutchings is our best player by a long shot, but he is better than Scooter who like Priddis, is also rated highly by many, but I think can be replaced by the young guys coming through who have the ability to use the ball better.
You don't know anything about my football knowledge, but I am comfortable that it outweighs yours. Results speak volumes, and this mediocre midfield that we've had for the last 5 or so years has given us nothing, but if you're happy to accept that and tell us how great they are, that's up to you, and it shows how little you know about what makes a team and player great.
.

I like Hutch and hope he turns into a 300 game superstar, just like everyone else on the list. But to compare sub performances, one against a bottom two side in a blowout at home and the other against a team that's not great but aren't woeful either, on the road, with the contest still on the line, it just can't be done. Can't point to the stats because Hutch did xyz in his time and Selwood didn't, or vice versa, the games were both so different they might as well have been playing a different sport. With the game on the line and a small lead, I think you'd be hard pressed to find more people on here who wish we could sub in Hutchings over bringing in Selwood.
I'm happy Hutch went well in limited minutes against the Suns, but he is a trier in every sense of the word, and if I had to pick out of all the mids on our list he'd surely be in the bottom half of players you'd choose as an impact sub. Can't compare the two at all on their one sub performance this year, and there's no comparison between Selwood's body of work and Hutchings', so I don't see how there's a debate here.

There's a debate because they're both "triers" as people would put it, its just that one gets treated like a god around here for doing stuff all except being related to a champion player, having a half decent season three years ago and having shit skills and the other gets treated like dirt despite actually having played well for us.

Hahaha. No need to get defensive because I rate Selwood higher than Hutchings. How does that make me a fanboy? Plus Smith was never one of my favourites.

I'm not sure why you keep bringing up hairstyles - we're talking about Selwood and Hutchings.

guys i'm too hungover for arguments about McInness and Hutchings in the game day thread

McInnes has not done anything note worthy at all. He is dreadful. He's out as soon as Darling comes back in and then will be de-listed at the end of the year.

Phew. I was a bit underwhelmed by McInnes's start to the year but if someone so clueless thinks he's delist material, then I reckon we have a 200+ game player on our hands!
