Even if your first paragraph is correct, how do you know the timekeeper's action was deliberate and not a mistake?

Fairly certain that the timekeepers are now AFL officials, and not club timekeepers like they once used to be. Not sure that one after the goal siren would have made much difference given that Brisbane steam-rolled West Coast in that final quarter.

You also have to account for the speed of sound which would have been around an extra 1 second before the umpires heard it. Had it been after the final siren for the win then it might have been scrutinised further, but in this case, it is a simple case of the old grapes for you OP.

It did look dodgy and at the time I was spewing. However being r*ped in the final qtr it didn't make a difference. Something the AFL should look into if indeed the timekeeper is not an AFL official.
