Judd decided to be the enemy. He gets what he gets from some fans. Don't be so precious.

And please don't compare Grigg and Stenglein to Judd.

Judd was loved by the people of Perth. So many kids bought eagles shirts with his number on the back and would have been shattered when he left. The club paid Judd huge money, offered him the captaincy, etc etc. He lied about wanting to stay in Perth over and over. No matter what the club did for him it still wasn't enough.

Try comparing Judd leaving WC with say if Jesaulenko left. My Dad was a young Carlton fan then and he would have been shattered. Maybe Carlton hasn't ever had this happened to them so Carlton fans don't really understand what it means/feels.
my favourite part of that year was when The West ran a big story explaining why Pav would be returning to Adelaide & Judd would stay at WC.

Was one of the best when playing at the Eagles.. At Carlton never lived up tp expectations and now seeing his career on the slide I'm not surprised. Even Carlton supporters I know have given up on him..

As a WC fan I was gutted when he left and hated on him. Boo'd him for the first couple of years but then I just stopped caring. He was a Carlton player now. But the real reason why I just stopped caring was because Masten has gotten better and better and JK is an absolute star. We did really well out of the trade that sent Judd to Carlton and now we are well and truly back in the hunt for a premiership. Same cant be said of Judd and Carlton.

Has earnt the right to be down a bit on form, has also earnt the right to some respect and patience from spectators who should realise a bloke cant be that good eternally, especially with a body that will no doubt get much tougher to recover from games from here on.

Some of the recent champs of the game arent getting any younger...no way i'll stick the boot into any of them.

The type that i reckon will retire earlier rather than later...fair way off yet though.

Just because he's not playing at "Judd level" doesnt mean he's not a valuable member of that team, contributing and leading...same with Riewoldt right now. The good ones are victims of their own past form...nothing wrong with being a bit out of form.

Washed up, has-been, old-hack - he's finished as a footballer and is now an embarrassment to his own legacy.
Time to trot off into the sunset and sell a few cardboard boxes.

Well ratten should be getting the heave ho so maybe flick judd as well and open up a ton of space in the salary cap, they obviously are in bad need of some young blood.
Indeed they need new blood - and the very first place to bring it in is in the recruitment department, its their recruitment that has got themselves - and Judd - in the position they are in. MM has always said he instructs his recruiters to recruit on ATTITUDE. Rankings are fleeting and open to interpretation but attitude is forever.

Unfortunately he is a b grader at best now with a dodgy kick. Still an important player for our side but not the be all and end all he was. Need to change his role and maybe play him on a wing and utilise the pace he has left and let him have a bit of a free role

carltons problem is the amount of salary cap he sucks up, still they put up with kouta for several years after his best was gone.

judd has week off - trouble is hawthorn awaits. NOT his best opponent by a long way and that goes back to wce days

Judd left Perth for family reason (wife). Anything else said by bitter WC fans is just that, bitterness.
Yes, Carlton offered him the best deal and WC was offered the best deal. So all other fans Melbourne & Collingwood inclusive - build a bridge ffs.

best way to shut up a crowd is to play well.

i suspect people in the subi crowd boo because:
they are bitter about him leaving
hear heaps of other people boo'ing
and now, think it might get into his head and make him play worse = better for the team.
it will never stop, but if he declared a retirement year/round he would get a standing ovation at the end of the game, no doubt about it

He hasnt been the same since he left the eagles... Let me rephrase that he has not been the same since he injured his groin at the eagles.

I don't know if all the vic supporters even saw many of his games at the eagles he was better than Gaj, who is currently the best player.

Judd used to be the goal finish king, I'd love to see his stats on goals kicked per game joining the blues.
agreed
very wise of WC to run him raw with an injury i8n his last season

How could the Eagles be offered the best deal when he nominated one club? Things may have worked out fine for us, but lets not pretend he did us any favours.

Shenanigans! His salary is quite moderate courtesy of a heavily front loaded contract. Do some research man!

I do find it funny though that even with so many declaring the end for the great man, that he's still better than Hodge :)

At what?

Foot skills, Hodge by a country mile.

Marking, Hodge by a country half mile.

Goal kicking, Hodge by a fair way.

Leadership, Hodge by a long way.

Loyalty, well lets not mention that.

So to sum it up, Judd 3 votes.

Eh? Who offered you better than what you got from Carlton? Piss it all out buddy, don't just dribble. Judd insisted WCE got more than adequate compensation and they did. How was that not doing you any favours?

Indeed Collingwood and Melbourne may have offered less than what Carlton eventually gave up.

However, the fact that Judd nominated Carlton (presumably due to monetary reasons) rather than letting every interested club pitch offers at West Coast doesn't exactly speak of a noble and altruistic football player.

Not familiar with the benefits to competition?

Indeed WC did get a reasonable deal, and if Judd continues on his present trajectory, may eventually be seen to have 'won' the trade, but if Judd hadn't declared Carlton or bust, a bidding war would have resulted, likely causing WC to do even better. There is the issue that under the rules of trade week that declaration was a bit of a grey area, but we'll leave that alone.

An honest Carlton supporter.

Being altruistic and doing WCE a favour are not the same thing, so don't pretend that they are. You seem to be suggesting that Judd - the best player in the land at the time - should have exerted virtually no influence over his playing future and ignore his own best interest completely in favour of WCE's ... that's not nobility, that's stupidity!

What you got was a deal maker; someone who knew how to get where he wanted and make sure his original club got more than fair compensation in return. And both happened. Not sure why you can't give credit where it's due tbh.

I didn't hear any WCE supporters complaining when Tyson Stenglein nominated their club. Players do the same nearly every year and have done so for decades. Why now are you all suggesting the best player in the land can't have chosen his club or exercised self-determination over his own future? He did do WCE as favour and insisted good compensation for his old club (I doubt WCE would have got better than JK and picks 3 & 20) but you seem to want an ounce of blood to go with it; you want for Judd to do what no professional person wants in life - to let the roll of the dice decide our fate. Makes me wonder how you reacted to Ablett's decision to essentially stiff your club.
