Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

The only thing that would stop Bennel would be a desire to return home to his family in WA, we have proven with Martin that we can deal with troubled players and we dont have players requesting release so one would assume we would be a good place for him.

Our only issue in attracting someone like Treloar is we wont pay overs for players, which Im personally happy about.

I would agree with that.

Do you not think it is an issue, that someone like Treloar wanting to come back to Victoria, and Richmond were in the box seat, were pushed aside by Collingwood? There needs to be a time where Richmond stop getting trumped at the trade time and nail the big fish.

Treloar would have been such a massive coup for Richmond.

Well it really depends on what offer Collingwood tabled if we both offered about the same then yes that is a worry, or did Eddie do the same as what happened with Cloke and offer some under the table work on Nine or Foxtel?

He's Rubbish
Wouldn't get a run in anybody's midfield apart from Carltons
And there you have it.

You've essentially confessed to not having watched him play regularly. Or atleast in 2015.

His main position this year was as a half forward. He did play more midfield towards the end of the year due to injuries. Nevertheless his main role through the majority of the year was as a half forward... similar to the role Robinson played for Carlton in 2014.

Apparently 7 possessions in the VFL is better than Ellis' best. This guy is beyond deluded.

His worst rating (164) is higher than Ellis best rating (180)

You are trying to attack my words because you cannot bring a forth anything more than your own opinion to prove that Ellis is a better player than Yarran.

Im bringing my own(most Carlton supporters) opinion, which may or may not be accurate due bias, plus the most accurate statistical rating system. Is it a coincidence that our opinion rates Yarran EXACTLY where the most accurate ranking system has him placed?

Wouldn't surprise me... Dodgy was done with Treloar's girlfriend apparently, she has a new job already...

Time will tell. To be honest I plucked pick 20 from what I have been reading across the Carlton/Brisbane boards.

Why would Bennell want to come to Tigerland? Party with Dusty? I think Bennell heads to WA.

Yarran will be all the Tigers have left to chase after losing out on Treloar/Motlop/Bennell. Worrying signs if your "window" is currently open.
This is true. Yarran as a big name signing is a worry. We need players that step up under pressure, not flighty players that go missing when the heat is on. Hope he stays at the blues.

It's a stupid comparison between Yaz and a player that is barely 22 years old and hasn't played 100 games yet. That same ranking system puts Tom Bell ahead of Vince and Miles, I wouldn't read too much into it tbh.

Yaz for pick 12 is too much. Yaz for 30 is too little. What do ya do?

Miles and Vince are rated ahead of Bell.

At age 22 Yarran was ranked in the 50-70 region. The reason this is being highlighted is due to the fact that Yarran, after his very poor year, is still ranked in a region that Ellis has never been to.

There is not one player in the top 100 that is Chris Yarran's age and is worth less than a first rounder

If Carlton get anything less than #12 they should just walk away from the deal and it would be a massive dissapoitment for all carlton fans as well as a bad start for sos , all clubs will be looking at how he deals with the Henderson,Yarran trades and could set a precedent
Carlton & Sos really need to extract as much as possible from these 2 deals to show the afl world they wont be bullied

Nah ... just equivalent to a late first round value would do it.

Still rubbish

Why?

What is his standout?
Where had he finished in Carlton BF over his career?
Why has he played more games below par than not?

I don't know what you have seen if him but I'd rather pass on him and go for someone more consistent.
His great games are to few...
Or pick 25-28 at best

Got stooged with Hampson big time!

Better not happen twice

Maybe his memory is longer than last 7 months unlike some of the other Richmond supporters.

End of the day yarran is a match winner and will be your most valuable player in what he can do on the field. His form dropped of when carlton turned more and more into a basket case. Everyone will be talking about him like they are talking about jacobs, betts, kennedy. (Cant believe carlton let go of another gun).

Or their memory includes the last 7 months, unlike most Carlton supporters.

Last year, he was one of the better rebounding HBFs around...Not the best, not a star, just one of the better players in what is widely regarded as the easiest spot on the ground.

Andrew McKay was asked about Yarran at a business function yesterday and he said Carlton will play hard ball with Richmond and won't trade him if they don't like the offer.

Personally can't see Yarran being at Carlton next year but being contracted does help our chance of getting a good return.
