Marcus Ashcroft - Gone
Andy Lovell - Gone
Matthew Primus - Gone
Ashley Prescott - Gone

I'm still undecided on if rocket deserves another chance. If the board feels he does then so be it but bring in some new assistants.
I think ashcroft has had his time and his contract should be linked to rockets.

But if the board decide to axe eade, Solomon as interim and then either him or Voss would make good coaches. Vossy has years of experience and would have the respect from this generation of players.

How does a list boss contract work? His work isn't done until early December.

The club has been down that road before...

My frustration is our current coaching department is not consistently getting 100% out of our players.

Our playing list is a lot stronger than our current results.

Definitely need to change things up there. Whether moving Eade to a Director of coaching type role, and then bring in the next Beverage type coach, maybe like a Stuart Dew type.

Rocket then keeps the culture heading in the right direction, a father figure. Dew brings the younger coaching dynamic, connects better with the players, game day intensity.

As far as footy dept guys like Ashcroft/Clayton, you really have to take into account players re-signing compared to leaving. Re-signs currently outweigh the leaving massively. Our last 6-months of re-signings have been huge.

Getting our 4 x top 10 draft picks to already extend is massive considering the state of QLD footy at the moment.

I have no doubt May will re-sign & as mentioned tonight, Lynchy is committing long term. Ticks a lot of boxes as far as footy dept I guess?

Goodbye Primus Goodbye Ashcroft Goodbye Eade Goodbye Prescott....You ARE THE WEAKEST LINKS!!
I think it's important for the club to not make the same mistake Brisbane made when they sacked Voss and thought they had Roos in the bag. The end result for Brisbane was Leppitsch and three wasted years.

Their list was pure rubbish. Roos was never going to make a difference, they started to bring in a mix of experience and good young kids.
What Fagan has taken over was a lot better then what Leppitsch had to work with.

The evidence of this season, when we started with a pretty healthy list and a lot of optimism after a better than expected off-season and pre-season, is that changes are required.

Everybody expected better than this after what the club and the players themselves were saying. Not in wins and losses but in overall performance.

Eade is already gone as head coach. This year has simply not been good enough given where we started from.

Assistants? Largely depends on the new head coach. As it usually does. With so many ooc, expect a big clean out. If they are any good, other teams will know and give them a job. AFL footy is a small world.

Ashcroft? Has had the time to show his stuff. If Evans can do better, he will.

Clayton? Drafting is sooooo difficult. Can we get someone better? Evans will know.

But a change is gonna come.

The people who have been charged with building culture are
Me Me Me Ablett
Superannuation top up Eade
Under the Radar Ashcroft

All have been well paid by the AFL and us members.
All 3 are epic failures and a disgrace and if u think I'm being harsh there is a simple answer. "GWS".

Totally agree with this. Besides on field Rocket has turned this club around off field. Move him up to keep an over view and get a young coach in. I would have loved Bolton.

Lets face it they are all GOOOONNNEEE !!!
Gazza as well back to sleepy hollow
Turnover of some board members will also happen
The timing of Mark Evans appointment by the AFL was no coincidence
Evans needs to flick the switch ASAP
Clayton's replacement should be hired immediately.
2018 going to be fresh and exciting
We all just have to endure another 13 rounds

Absolutely agree. Starting a new a Franchise with a Captain who is very individualist was a massive mistake.
Franchises grow by winning not by having a well known individual. Hunt and Falou did absolutely nothing to grow the game.
Franklin did GWS a favour by not going there they are far better off for it.

Evans sure has a lot going for him to make a step change in the clubs future and send a message with so many contracts at an end for 2017/18, he just has to be strong enough to walk some people out the door

He's had long enough.
Every list manager has hits and misses but the club needs a new direction.
Adelaide's list manager needs more sun I think.
Walker pick 75, Sloane pick 44, Laird, Charlie Cameron & Thompson rookie draft, Atkins 81, Crouch 23, Talia and Lever late first round, Jenkins 41, Betts free agency $500 K.
Compare that with the picks Clayton's had.
He even had a free look at Zorko and knocked him back.

Wasn't that David Noble? He just went to Brisbane

I just feel like this is kicking the can down the road. What will the excuse be next year?

Some are acting like this is Rocket's first year at the club. While he can't be judged for what has happened over the last two years, it doesn't mean he's starting fresh. He still had two years to get the team playing right, in spite of bad injuries/culture. The bad culture din't make them deaf/blind, the injuries didn't confine them to hospital beds. He's had ample time to coach all the players.

A loss to West Coast should be the trigger. Ride that new coach bump, go all out for Clarkson.

Rocket is brilliant at saying "it's no excuse but....", well by saying that u r making an excuse.
U see these old blokes in their 50s take jobs for a Superannuation top up all the time in all industries and that's all this is for him.

I love how the Melbourne media tried to make out we r in crisis because Eade and Every Assistant is off contract.

What crap!!! This is brilliant, any new Coach for 2018 can totally hand pick his own team of assistants to come in. It's a great position to be in.

There's a difference between excuses and reasons. I've never seen Rocket as one to make excuses. He's just giving reasons for the lose. Do you want him to be dead silent in press conferences?
