Too much has gone wrong this year for Rocket to stay.

The Port game in China, the Lions first 20 minutes, the GWS debacle, the capitulation against the Demons.

We turned it around big time after the Lions and GWS, but have just given most of it back after Port and the Demons.

Injuries not a factor, we had most of our best players playing in those games. The biggest issue is that they keep happening and the coaching staff and playing group seem powerless to stop it. Got to change.

I heard David Parkin had been up with the coaching playing groupd recently and was particularly scathing
Pretty much says no-one wants to be here and morale is zero
Parko's gone a bit crazy but nonetheless it's not want you want to hear

Meh

If it can be turned around at Port Adelaide it can be turned around here

I was at airport on Monday night and saw Parko draped in AFL offical gear and wondered if he was here to sought shit out .

1. Any idea who got Parkin to come up here (AFL or GC Suns - although pretty much one in the same these days)
2. Who was Parkin reporting those comments back to where it has made it out to a public forum - GC board

I wouldn't discount his comments entirely but Parkin and Blight are fossils, they couldn't get Paul Roos or Bomber Thompson to come up to give that sort of opinion which may carry more weight?

EDIT: No surprised the morale is zero - the club is struggling and all the coaches and staff are out of contract, and we've brought in a toe-cutter in Evans - it would be pretty hard to get your morale sky high right now

Not sure if its a Mark Evans thing or not , but on Monday night he came in at Cooly airport with 2 other AFL guys of similar age all wearing AFL logo's on there shirts , noticed Parko straight away , thought the other was Mike Sheahan but it was'nt , obvious there here to do a review on our coaching panel.

I emailed ME on Sunday about the coaching situation and got a reply back at midnight on Tuesday.

"Thanks for your email. I don't disagree with our lack of resilience when parts of the game go against us. Having only seen 9 matches I am keen to see how the club responds to the position we are currently in. A better assessment of people, culture and practices will be aided by our responses over the next couple of months."

So still very much in analysis mode and not offering any opinion one way or the other. But I have faith in the guy that the necessary changes will be made. As long as the leadership group are included in the decision making and onboard with the changes, it can only make us stronger.

Not sure how credible the source is but a mate of mine who works at the Gold Coast airport told me Clarkson has been up here 2-3 times over the last few months wearing a suit and tie with no Hawthorn logo and rented cars under his own name when a team would generally book a car under the team account. I asked if he actually saw him with his own eyes and he said yes, it was definitely him. Apparently he has been up here midweek a few times this year and would personally return the car the following day before presumably getting on a flight home.

Make of it what you will.

Oooooohhhhh sounds suspicious. Clarkson to the Suns imagine that

So your mate works for rent-a-bomb?

I think its very well known that when the afl moved Mark Evens up to the Suns something big was going to go down and huge changes will be made in 2018.
Don't forget Clarkson is very well known for flying all over Australia and overseas in his own time and using his own money to chase down players and try and bring them to the Hawks. That's why he his the best coach, So he could of just been meeting up with Steven May

So maybe Clarkson was wearing a suit to meet up with Steve May? Was it a Hugo Boss suit?

Hawthorn have nothing to give us for may, they dont even have a chance

I could not agree more, the fact the Hawks are linked in anyway is delusional, even though you have to expect it from Victorian media. Maybe Clarkson is wearing his suit to impress the head honchos at GC for the coaching position next year.

You just have to make 2 1st round picks in any 4 year period.

Suns can trade 2017 and 2018 picks if they want since we made 4 picks last year.

The Hawks actually had 2 1st rounders in 2015 so were able to trade 2016 and 2017 picks. Can trade 2018 pick if they want but then will have to make 2 picks in 2019.

The Cats did not make a 1st round pick in 2015 or 2016 and have traded their 2017 one already. So they need to trade in and use a 2017 or 2018 1st rounder and use their 2018 1st rounder to comply.

Clarkson with Eade as director of coaching/minder and a fresh set of assistants is something i reckon would work for us
I think Eade would be great as director of coaching.
I dont think we have the budget or if Eade lost his job i dont think he would want it.
