Correct. If you match a bid in the first round you essentially purchase the pick that was used for the bid with points accumulated from your next pick(s). In 2018 we used pick 13 on Quaynor despite having no actual first rounder.
The beauty of this system for us in our situation means that we are free to chuck away our 20/21 firsts while still having official first round selections in Reef and Daicos, so no restrictions will apply in 2021 if we wish to trade our 2022 first.

Surely they'll throw out the rule soon anyway. We've seen enough to know that it serves little purpose and isn't protecting clubs from themselves or whatever it's supposed to do.

It means less rehab and his bad back gets even worse
That sounds terrible, we might have to rookie list him, too risky to spend National Draft capital on a player with such injury concerns!

As Jen's Twitter shows, Nick Daicos is currently celebrating Carlton being in the 8 on his Insta story. Please don't refuse to nominate for F/S Nicky. Please I can't take it. :(

Doubt he would. If he did he'd risk going absolutely anywhere else other than Collingwood and Carlton.

Our biggest fear his whole career will be him requesting a trade to the Blues 🤮🤮🤮

If he doesn't nominate chances are he'll go to Adelaide Sydney Fremantle North Melbourne... Better to take a 100% chance to stay in Melbourne with a big club I'd say.

Not a risk when they finish bottom. Were going to have to barrack for them to win a few games. I feel sick. Hopefully they play Essendon twice. I can barrack for them then.

We'll have to cleanse him that's for sure.

Apparantely he has gone for them most of his life. His fav player was Judd.

Geez, Peter. Where ever did you go wrong??

Apparantely has mates who are carlton fans. Peer pressure. That's what it was.
He barracked first then when he was about 7 years old but has been back with the pies for many years

If he is so immature as to reject the chance to play with his brother and the club which made his father an icon of the game then he has serious issues.
I find it hard to fathom how any kid could choose to follow the arch enemy of the team his dad became a legend playing for.

This makes me feel physically ill!!

A Daicos in a Scum jumper!!!

I'm not worried. He will nominate and we'll nominate him. Maybe he just still supports them from his childhood days and happy they are doing well --- That's all I can come up with.
Are you still nervous when you go to the footy Jen and trying to catch hints from training on selection news? Or just not cos it's a bit hard to at the moment?

As a former Mooroolbark boy I can assure you Mitchell was a natural right footer.

Yeah I knew that (that he was a right footer, not that you were from Mooroolbark), just making a point about how good he was on his wrong foot.
