Is there anything lower than cheering when a player gets injured? Given that the injury occurred through a cowardly act certainly it's a disgrace for any supporter to cheer and applaud these actions. Hope Collingwood make an example of this clown that appeared front and centre on TV

Also to the Collingwood poster claiming it was the highlight of the night you've really displayed your lack of football intelligence.

It's low. It also wasn't a big section of the crowd like on Queen's Birthday, which I assume is what you're getting at.

In this case it was obvious straight away that Simpson was in serious trouble so you'd need to be a complete lowlife to cheer or do anything except be quiet and concerned for his health. Even before the replay showed it was a deliberate hit rather than a contest, there was no place for celebrating while a guy was on the ground in that state.

Wellington?

Not going to excuse the hit or the fan, both weak acts. Every club has these fans unfortunately.

No, he meant Napoleon. If not Napoleon, he meant Rothschild. :D:p;)

Who cares anyway? A bumps a bump? I didn't see an elbow.

Given that Shaun Hampson tried to put Dane Swans internals into his throat in the first quarter.

The tone was set from the beginning.

i seen the footage, but was he really clapping simpson's concussion? i don't think i could hear him say anything. sometimes these clapping supporters are really clapping the courage of the injured player or just clapping in some sort of appreciation for the injured player. cheering them off the ground nicely.

I assume this is a bit of a "gotcha" card after many collingwood posters were upset about a section of Melbourne supporters jeering the didak injury a few weeks back. It's football, everyone has scum supporters. No one is sacred.

The delight on his face would say otherwise...

Unfortunately its a culture thing at Collingwood.

Reminded me very much of Magro's weak attack on Jezza. Thirty years later they still applaud this type of act.

For most Collingwood home games televised on Channel 7 anyway, I see the same bloke most weeks making a dick of himself.

He has had a front row seat for years. He sums a few of them up fairly well. Wouldn't be feeling so cheerful this morning, no doubt.

Yeah that guy is a disgrace. Carrys on like a tosser every single game, foaming at the mouth at any opposition player that gets close to him. Worse than the young guy who this OP is aimed at. He just looked like a stupid kid who had a few too many drinks.

It's Collingwood.... you should know by now the kind of cretins who support them.

Unlike Hawthorn supporters who celebrate players when they do their ACL's.

anyone else getting sick of these threads?

one idiot in the crowd does something stupid..... -> "*team names*'s supporters are all scum!"

send an email to collingwood or the afl if you really want to make a difference, get the blokes membership revoked and banned from attending games

was disgraceful by the supporter. Almost as disgraceful as the hit itself. I'm ashamed this morning of what Wellingham did, although I do not believe he intentionally meant to take the player out, he took his eyes off the footy and when you do that, you take the brunt of the tribunal, the fans, the club and the AFL community in general. He'll get at least 5 weeks IMO.
