The role he was offered by the swans seemed to be bigger than what we had at the pies. More responsibility and likely more money.
So will be interesting who is replacing him as head of the academy/coach
He seemed to be someone that wouldn't want to be in one role too long, just wants to keep improving his coaching
Peter Daicos for me, seems to have done OK so far turning kids into AFL ready performers!

And he'll fill out in time.
He racked up the ball as a 16 year old against older and more mature bodies, I don't think it's an issue even going into jis U18 year.. Less alone another 12 months going into the afl
Then factor into his exposure against men at senior level, he doesn't let his size hold him back

Mick was telling me, in the Keilor GF, Tommy had 10 touches in the last Q alone.

He does not look like that skinny 14 kid from 3 yrs ago now,he is quite a solid boy already and if he gets to that 185 he dad thinks he might the club will have a player here.He could be in the midfield with Nick for a while I feel sure the Club and the fans will be very happy with him.

I remember seeing him when he first rocked up at Collingwood training he was very thin but he has put some weight on since then, bigger in the shoulders back arms and legs I really excited at what he could become, 2 sided with a fast brain give me that anytime.

Definitely looks like he is slowly filling out, and given he isn't 18 until next August, he prob does have more physical growth to come.
My eye test on tuesday it did appear he looked a bit fuller in the upper shoulders than he was a couple years ago
Even with his frame, he never let that deter him when playing against men.

Mick said the senior exposure for Keilor will be good for him long term, and that even in the GF, he had 10 touches in the last quarter alone.

I've heard the club will be investing a lot more $ and resources into the academy.

Good thing too given clubs can now have access to top talents.

That why they putting more money in it as we can have Access to the Talent

When old rule said had to be after pick 40 there was not much reason to put money into it

I've been told both Tadhg McCarthy and Luke Quaynor can't play for oakleigh as overagers next year. Might be something to do with how many games they have played the last 2 years. Even though Tadhg's were limited via injury and school footy. But apparantely were rejected by the afl.
So they'll both be on our vfl list.

Pies fans will be excited to hear that Tom McGuane is shaping to be an excellent prospect in the 2025 draft pool. A little undersized for the midfield at this stage, he makes up for it with fantastic movement around congestion and ability to damage on the spread. This game was heavily affected by the windy conditions, and while Tom misplaced a few disposals he managed better than most, growing in influence and helping his Jets team claw back from a significant scoreboard deficit in the second half before ultimately falling short.

I can really see that Naicos kicking style comparison someone mentioned.

So can Hide them a Bit ;)

Cooper Brancatisano gets 2nd in the 200m final in the australian all schools champs
Just by a hair he didn't get gold.

The 100m is on sunday which is his speciality.

Too many “hill sprints” at Oakleigh training on Wednesday night 🤣

Haha, he used too much energy before hitting the end lol Its okay, the 100m is his expertise. Though he will have a battle against Jamison Cox who pipped him last time.

Those poor oakleigh boys having to compete against cooper when it comes to sprints. I can only imagine the daylight between him and the next.

Jen, good to hear but if this was the case why did we let Harmit Singh get poached by Sydney?
You don't get to whine about Harmit Singh leaving unless you can give a single specific piece of assessment that indicates why he is such a significant loss.

He's been replaced, we have no holes in our development team, so what's the issue?

You find a lot of the FS and academy players contribute their development to him, if you look at his farewell post. So he’s obviously made a difference to them. But yes he can be replaced within the role. The people you can’t replace.

That's not specific. That's just looking at what his role is and suggesting that he's done a good job at it.

It doesn't say anything about what his strengths are or why he'd be in any way uniquely difficult to replace via another qualified candidate.

Josh Fraser has taken his job, and you could say exactly the same things about Josh.

Is there a possibility we lose him to athletics with ambitions to get to an Olympics?
Loving his speed, and can already see him sprinting down the wing on the "G"......

Tommy said he wasn't happy with his time trial.

His friend was like "He came 2nd.."

Said he got 6:32, but was down on himself as he generally gets 6:05 and wants to do better. Wants to test himself on afl players and wants to beat nick. Said he plans on sticking to him.

I wouldn't be too worried at this point. He's quick, but he's not setting any kind of record. I think his priority is footy. Doesn't hurt that he keeps fit with his running through the year. The athletics thing is only a couple times a year with his school.

His speed at the moment is his Big Weapon

Not with Gout breaking records for fun. Even if he was good enough to make the Olympics he’d be the Stuart MacGill to Gouts Shane Warne.
