With the pies rubbing their hands together at the prospect of some early draft picks have a squiz at this, it's ripped from saintsational

Thought you'd all enjoy this.
Sent to Mick from a Collingwood fan.

An excerpt from a letter sent to Collingwood Football Club;

"Poor old Mick...

not like it's his fault.

and i wholeheartedly agree with him that wholesale changes should be
made.
let's see..... i think we should bring in:

Mal Michael... oooops forgot he was traded for jarrad molloy. maybe
Molloy could come in.. oh no that's right, he's about 15kegs overweight
and retired, as opposed to 10 kegs overweight and still playing

why don't we bring in andrew schauble, could help in defence. damn,
traded him too. who for again? mark kinnear. that's right, MARK kinnear.
i guess the goal there was to prove that ben wasn't the worst Kinnear
that ever played. job done.

josh hunt would be handy with his accurate long kicking from defence.
what's that? we traded that draft pick for carl steinfort. isn't he a
manager at wizard home loans now? guess he could give noel judkins some
advice on how to invest his redundancy payout.

damian adkins would be more than handy with his pace and long kicking -
i mean he does get a game with a team 7-0. silly me, andrew williams was
his replacement. a sh-tter footballer you're never likely to see,
although shane obree may take that challenge as some sort of personal
affront. if his last name was kinnear i'd get the joke. at the moment
i'm not laughing.

richard hadley? sh-t - traded his draft pick for ryan
lonie.
who? plays at williamstown. oh, him. yeah, real hard man, voted 4th
hardest player in league. no, the lions weren't take the mickey were
they?

daniel bell. yeah, he's promising. 6'3", quick, athletic. pity he was
the pick given away for woewodin. woewoful makes lonie look tough.

nick dal santo. no,pick
11 would be much better spent on richard "accountable" cole, the only
man who appears to take the instruction "play him close" as a license to
adopt some sort of detroit pistons style zone defence versus shaq. i
swear to christ i watch him sometimes and he's looking up at the sky
while the ball is up for grabs daydreaming. maybe he likes planes? a
looser player you're unlikely to find. OK, i agree, we'll take cole at
11
and let the saints get dal santo at 13. noel thinks its for the best.

sav rocca would be a presence in the square with anthony out. all we'd
have to do is get him to lead to the boundary, put him in no 23 and tell
him to lead wide and let his man run off and no one would know the
difference.
what? we DELISTED him. not even a mark kinnear in return?
you sure? that can't be right. who did we get as a replacement at the
draft.
SCOTT CUMMINGS? must be a misprint. must be.

matthew pavlich would be awesome although he might battle when having to receive the footy from rhyce shaw instead of paul hasleby. forgot.
traded pick 3 (pavlich went 4) to tigers for steve mckee and pick 7 (danny
roach). i think i know mckee. isn;t he the gut that now holds up the big
whiteboard at the 1.4 time huddle (no sh-t, check it out next time pies
on TV). and as for danny roach didn't he retire at age 20?
must have played some good footy before that though? 1 game! really? how
many touches? 1! what did he do with it? OUT ON THE FULL!!! surely you
jest.

oh well, why don't we go for what we do have. we could bring in david
king, matthew lokan, or anyone with the surname shaw. seriously, is
there an age limit on the father-son rule coz it's not too late to turn
jock mchale jnr into a pretty reasonable CHF. sure, he's 60+ but he
couldn't possibly look slow in the pies lineup."

think the west coast 7-0 stat is a give away that this is old news!!!

can drag out old skeletons & what ifs from every single club in the league

of all trades mentioned the only ones i have issue with are

delisting sav
and the pav stuff up

all others were reasonable at the time in regards to where the list was at & the demands / interests of the players in question

is collingwoods drafting during 02-03 not the recycling of players that should be questioned, finally that looks as tho it has been rectified with a good crop in 04 & hopefully again in 05

Is that the 3rd time you've posted this?

Can't believe I'm biting (and the Clokes got away from the crusifixion) but i'll address a few issues:

Molloy, Steinford - Would not have made 2002 GF without them (or been competitive for that)

Kinnear - Pay that one.

A.Williams - Pay that one too. A Malthouse "special" from WA. I have never thought he could play at AFL level.

Lonie - Been disappointing after a few good years spent rebounding off the HB line. Would like to see him playing his best again, slotting goals on that beautiful left foot from 55-60. Would struggle to knock anyone out in our backline at the moment though (and no you can't disagree there. our backline is the reason that we have even gone close to winning any games this year! - Although against Essendon wasn't pretty)

Woewodin - Are you telling me you wouldn't have taken an brownlow medallist when the club he used to play for would be paying for part of his salary?

Cole - Again dissapointing. Can't see him being retained in any capacity in the near future.

S. Rocca - try fitting Sav, Ant, Taz and Didak (i know someone will ark up at didak & tarrant but i don't care, i reckon theyre great) in the same forward line. It aint gonna happen.

The Pavlich nightmare - Please! no I shut this out of my memory forever! You all know the story.

McKee - Collingwood tryed to get what they needed a ruckman. Wasn't a star but servicable as a ruckman until rule changes made his style of ruckwork unworkable.

R. Shaw - Was excellent this season before the dreaded knee injury. Our most improved player and looks set for a long AFL career as long as his knee holds up and Chronic Fatigue doesn't catch up with him.

Also on the draft. Do you people realise that draft players are untried in AFL (most instances). Some work, some don't and we all know that there are been some excellent pickups and some shockers (e.g. Hird 79 or something and for you saints fans, Goddard what a star  )

You also forget our other terrible recruitment decisions like Buckley, Clement, A. Rocca, T. Cloke (I think I just opened a can of worms)

P.S. To head you off (a bit) on the Clokes:
Jason - Dissappointing. Hopefully he can get back to AFL.
Cameron - Too early to tell too much. Will have to see if he can be a ruckman for us. (A bit too slow at the moment)
Travis - Again too early to tell, but signs are good.

Possibly the longest post I have put on this website!

Its easy for collingwood supporters keep pointing the finger at us for our early draft picks, but how wasterful has their list been.

At least we haven't been finishing bottom and feeding of the priority draft picks for the last few years like the scavengers of the AFL called the Saints.

When did you last make a grand final??????????????????????

How many premierships do you have??????????????????????

Hmmmmmmm, bottom in everything.

Well, you did spend two years in the bottom two. Sadly, you only came away with Josh Fraser and Alan Didak - B Graders at best.

Nah dumbsy#1 St Kilda's location is Melbourne which makes them way ahead of Adelaide.
My god in Adelaide they still wear their team colours beyond childhood thinking their cool.

I tend to agree with just about everything he wrote.

Malthouse's contract is up at the end of next year and I would'nt be suprised if him and his team (Balmey, Cummings, McKenna etc) are given their marching orders.

Eddie is loyal, but he also wants to be a winner.

Could you please put this in a graph. Otherwise i'll jump on the Saints > Collingwood bandwagon.

He would have been serviceable for the Pies... but he is a Bomber through and through.

Like I said, thanks to Neil Balme having his Donuts BEFORE doing the paperwork!

We ended up getting Woewodin when the Misiti deal fell through. As bad as Woey is atm we've probably got more from him than we would have from Misiti.
