Inevitable that since the big win yesterday pies fans have been happier than a fat pig in a pile of shit. Congratulations on the win. Some of the threads created in the last day have been entirely out of line. Particularly questioning whether the saints are a good side and whether it will be a hawks vs pies GF. Let me remind you of something, it is only RD 16! The home and away season and the finals are so DIFFERENT they are not even comparable. Why dont all the happy go lucky pies fans just suck up their win, enjoy it for a great win and stop the bullshit regarding who is better than who. Start asking those questions when you get into, or win the GF.

Either way, most supporters ARE trying to keep a lid on it as we do know that it all boils down to what happens in September. I don't see much wrong with most of the Pies fan ATM.

They are a very good team that gets very few accolaids.

It was only 2 months ago that alot of fellow Melbourne supporters were blowing their tops off and talking finals after rd 4. On this forum you will always get boasting and outlandish claims, just look at some of the richmond supporters of late getting alot more optamistic towards there place in the compertition (rightly so after being slagged and told to go to tassie for a fair while). There isnt much wrong with being passionate about your footy, its just some times a few people get out of control and act bigger then their boots.

The way I see it, Collingwood had a very good win over a team many considered to be a flag favourite, and hit the top of the ladder ... a pretty good reason to be happy I would think. I'm really not sure why people think they shouldn't be optimistic.

As excited as some Collingwood supporters are, and that is natural, especially with success starved sides, it is nothing compared to the drivel coming from the media. Last night and today, on different radio stations I have heard commentators talk of how Malthouse could coach the next two premierships then be out of a job. The media drives the bulk of this rubbish, then will say how overrated the side was at the first hiccup.
A few weeks ago it was all about how Buckley and Malthouse couldnt work together and it will unravel, now it is the pies going back to back.
