Collingwood to trial male and female cheerleaders

A divine plan by the magpies, Eddie knows it's just a matter of time until Paul Seedsman impregnates the female dancers ensuring that in 20 years time we will be able to field an entire team of Seedsman father son selections.

Perth Glory reintroduced cheerleaders and it has done absolutely nothing for the match-day experience.

Tell the marketing men and women there are cheaper and more effective ways to arrange to be near attractive members of the opposite sex.

Why do marketing teams think anyone wants anything at the footy other than footy?

so they keep there job - naturally

they have to have something to do and come up with something/anything (& often) to justify their positions

Eddie probably got the idea from this video clip and figured they could draw on even greater manpower for Collingwood

so let me get this straight footy department spending gets capped and instead of re-budgeting so pie supporters get cheaper memberships, Eddie everywhere is pissing cash away on cheerleaders.

I suppose breaks are longer now compared to the 80's but its hard to see them having enough time to perform other then half time. Pre game theres balls flying everywhere 1/4 and 3/4 are only 15 minute bear runs and piss breaks.

The male auditions were held at Etihad stadium vs Fremantle. Nick Maxwell really put himself forward as captain

I for one am a huge fan of the traditional 'cheerleader' concept (Not so much for seeing blokes in spandex flappin their arms about). Give the lads a bit of a gee up when the chips are down, the lungs are on fire and the lactic acid unbearable. I even have a cheer worked out in my head.

"Dusty, Dusty he's our man. If he can't do it , no one can!"

- finish with gusto and tremendous energy

"Gooooo DUSTY!"

I can see the womens lib killjoys getting up in arms over this, but fuggem if they can't see this is a positive move for footy.

Maybe if they stopped commercialising the stuffing out of the cheer squads they'd be doing a better job geeing the crowd up and you wouldn't need to be considering cheerleaders...

Not that I can see how cheerleaders would work very well in games played on a giant bloody oval.

Stan, Stan, he's our boy! If he can't do it, no one........will
