Potential 22 next season

B Quaynor McStay Howe
HB Maynard Moore N.Daicos
C J.Daicos Mitchell Sidebottom
HF Ginnivan Krueger Johnson
F Elliot Miochek McCreery
FOLL- Cameron Crisp De Goey
I/C- Pendlebury, Murphy, Lipinski, Hill

Yeah McStay ain't pushing Murphy to the bench. Not a chance.

Is Mitchell honestly a chance to come to us, or is that just idle chatter?
According to some, he wants to. It would likely be late in the trade period though, as we would have to know what our cap situation is like after the other moves

I think over the next 2 years we need to replace the following players (from our PF team):
Pendles - T.Mitchell
Sidebotttom - Fiorini
Cox/Cameron - McStay
Howe - Frampton /Dean
WHE / Bianco - Hill

Would be a great trade period. Especially if we keep JDG & 1st round picks.

I also have faith in Draper & Fin.
Mitchell is only 2 years younger than Sidebottom, and not contracted long-term

I'd love to see Mitchell come in, but doubt it'll happen. Can't see Adams missing, nor do I think Noble will be dropped. Don't rate Kreuger as highly as you evidently do and reckon Johnson may be squeezed out. Think Cox should start in the ruck. My best guess for week 1, 2023 (at this stage) would be:

B Maynard, Murphy, Howe
HB Noble, Moore, Quaynor
C J. Daicos, Crisp, Hill
HF McCreery, McStay, Sidebottom
F Elliott, Mihocek, Ginnivan
Ruck Cox, De Goey, Adams
I/C Pendlebury, Lipinski, Cameron, N. Daicos

Emg - Fiorini, WHE, Johnson, Dean
Depth 1: Carmichael, Kreuger, McInnes, Frampton
Depth 2: Bianco, Macrae, Ruscoe, Harrison
Depth 3: Wilson, Draper, Murley, Madgen
Depth 4: Begg, Kelly, Draftee1, Draftee2

Also think some posters are not giving enough credit to Fiorini as a real midfield gun. Might squeeze one of the unlucky quintet of Noble, Adams, Cameron, Sidey or even Lipinski out of the best 22 in the first half of next season.

One thing's for sure: if our full squad looks something like the above next year, I reckon we'd have some really talented depth (for once)!

Mitchell isn’t replacing Sidebottom. Plus we’d hope Fin or Draper get a move along.

We could draft 3 first round picks this year and another next year.

I’m optimistic about our list, but we need the players we are linked to.

Sure, I just don’t know that the timeframe will see Pendlebury and/or Sidebottom out

Frampton for Poulter will be a straight swap. Both clubs just doing their thing as most likely both would have been delisted anyway. As much as I’d like a little more, let’s be realistic.
Should Derek Hine feel embarrassed about what's happening?

I would be interested to know what these behavioural clauses for JDG entail. Most pro level sport contracts would have a morality clause that is pretty broad - for example the AOC contract for athletes covers anything bringing the athlete, their team , the AOC or the sponsors into disrepute. I have always assumed that the AFL player contracts would be similar .

If Collingwood is seeking to be far more specific to avoid any legal challenge then I also wonder whether it would pass muster with the AFLPA........it's an interesting one.
