Why hasn’t Bowes & 7 happened yet? Thought that would be done by now. Tactical ploy by Geelong to sit on that transaction so we can’t push them to split 7 re: Henry?

Be funny if they missed the deadline.

Oh wait, they'd have an exemption made.

But yes, I think the tactics Geelong are employing this trade period aren't nice.

Frampton ought to get done still, I don’t think we want him going to the PSD as there was interest from St. Kilda.

One of Mitchell or Fiorini should still go ahead providing the Grundy deal doesn’t fall over.

Ollie should stay and ultimately re-sign, he won’t go to the PSD. It’s up to Geelong to deal Esava to Port and their 2023 first to us.

If the compensation Geelong are offering is pick #25, Wright has my support to blow up the Henry deal and risk losing any return.
That’s a big hill to climb with no 2023 2nd or 4th and the Bowes deal to get done…

Esava has the value of Pick 38, if that.

25+38 is not sufficient for Henry.

Collingwood want Pick 7. Geelong want to keep it. Geelong want Henry (sort of). Collingwood want to keep him. Who blinks?
I’m getting hopeful that we end up keeping him, we’ve improved our offer…
He just needs to move house to half way between Collingwood and Geelong (suburb) and everything is hunky dorey!

It’s more likely because of the AFL mandate that Geelong give a 2023 2nd in return which they currently don’t have because of their funny buggers deal with Brisbane which was designed to * both Collingwood and GC.
AFL did a back flip, and now are fine with a F3 to GC given Geel traded their F2.
Complete BS really.

Also they might be waiting for us to take 25 then as soon as that's done get a future 2nd for GC so we can't ask for their future 1st.

Basically Geelong being pricks.

Wright already stated that we could afford to retain Grundy while acquiring our targets aside from Mitchell. Seems like he wasn’t lying if we’re considering retaining Grundy over being lowballed. I’m actually loving this hardball stance. We aren’t asking for anything unreasonable, but we won’t be *ed over either. Fabulous.
I love this approach. We're being pragmatic when bringing players into our club, Bulldogs got a fair deal for Lipinski, GWS got a fair deal for Hill, Adelaide will get a fair trade for Frampton, and so will Hawks for Mitchell if he comes. But by the same token, clubs can't expect to get our players for unders.

Its a pragmatic approach that I fully support, its so much better than being flogs like Brisbane are with Dunkley, Geelong is with Henry and the famous days of Dodoro.

Like to see Wrighty not take a call from either Melbourne or Geelong tomorrow, leave them standing cold while he ****s around with some smaller stuff like Fiorini, maybe Mitchell, maybe shuffle some picks around, shed a late pick or 2 for Frampton tomorrow to keep him off the PSD.
Talk again about lunchtime Wednesday and tell them ‘you in or we pull the pin here and now’

**** ’em

Absolutely, but ultimately I think we’re best off if the Grundy deal goes ahead (and subsequently whatever we want to do with Mitchell, Fiorini) and the Henry deal falls over anyway.

I hadn’t seen that reported? My assumption was it would always happen, but that might also still be the stumbling block for the trade because GC are digging their heals in.

Yusss Wrighty.
Strong arm away!

It's not unreasonable and Demons game plan is reliant on 2 rucks and they have no one other than Gawn who can ruck.

If Gawn gets injured who rucks?
Majak Daw?

Dees blink first.

Those picks have about as much worth as Monopoly money.

Only 45 kids were drafted last year and less expected this year.

I’d much prefer that than a future 3rd in a superdraft next year.
There was a lot more than 45. I am hoping we keep one of those 50 picks unless we accept 25 for Henry. We should take a 3rd round pick to the draft if it still our 3rd pick and decide on the night.

It's paying what the market rate is and not more or not less. Lippa has been worth more than Pick 43, Hill and Framtpn may well be the same. By trading fairly, we're letting clubs know that we're people to do business with. Not because we give too much but because we give the right amount and all parties walk away feeling as if the situation has benefited all. Players will be able to play at Collingwood because of him being fair. It's in our interest to have this happen.

Notice how Dodoro and Essendon aren't doing much business? It's because no sane manager - player or list - will do business with him. That's not a win for the club. Dunkley may not land at Brisbane, Henry is no certainty to arrive at Geelong, either.

The days of flogs in football are starting to come to an end and people are far more willing to call out bad behaviour than let it fly.

I am tipping we can manage the current ins and Grundy being stranded at Pies but we need to shift Grundy for Mitchell’s salary to be under the cap.
Surely they have only spent what we can afford worst case scenario

As hilarious as it would be to shaft the Dees and leave them scrambling for a back-up ruckmen, I think it might be too far gone. Happy to be wrong, but doubt it. If it is too far gone then Mitchell is a perfect consolation prize.

Geelong can GAGF, as far as I'm concerned

I notice you’ve been watching my posts closely and quoting them back at me.
Good work.

You better send an email to Fly explaining he’s wrong to think we’re better with Grundy.
Like, I'm sure GW would be happy with Fly saying we're no better off with Grundy when we're trying to trade him..
