We were never using 41 and 50 so it's more like Henry for Mitchell + 25.
No, that's exactly what it's like....
So net result from Grundy and Henry trades:

Swapped out Grundy for Mitchell. I can live with that except Mitchell is a year older.

Henry upgrade Pick 50 -> Pick 27, Pick 41 ->25. Yea not great. Unless we can package up 25 and 27 somehow into a first rounder which I doubt. Would've been better if we had just received what Geelong traded to Brisbane for pick 25.
No, we were never going to use 50 so Henry for pick 25 and 27

To be clear we got a former Brownlow medalist who fits the most glaring hole on our list paying half his wage for the cost of two picks we weren’t going to use? If it means we have to say we took Henry for 25 then so be it!

Except when it's us losing players like treloar and Grundy, then it's also fair we get reemed and we should think it's a good deal to...

End of the day we have improved the list overall and happy with the ins in terms of recruits.

Does not mean I feel we traded well and "won" in any sense of the word.

Yes,that’s pretty much what happened.Well done to Graham Wright. He got exactly who he was looking for and created some much needed salary cap space, while protecting our top picks as well.
Yes, well done GW.
Baggers offered pick 25 & we ended up with 25 & a Brownlow Medallist who happens to be exactly what our midfield needs.
I think Titch will have a point to prove next year.

Looking at the overall picture of our trade period, and I’m happy.

Out: Grundy & Henry, future 2nd & 3rd

In: McStay, Hill, Frampton, Mitchell, picks 25 & 27

We‘ve recruited to fix weak spots in the list - our 2023 best 22 looks way better and our depth has been shored up.

How?

We offered 41 for Mitchell and Hawks wanted rumoured 27, should of landed somewhere in between.
Picks 41 and 50 bring it close to par.

We effectively lost Henry for 25 as Stephens is not coming to us.

Hawks benefited.

We effectively gave up Henry for Mitchell and pick 25.

We were only going to use 2-3 picks in the draft this year so the 41 & 50 were nothing picks for us.

Go into the draft with 16, 25 & 27 with the potential to move up the order.

It's all personal opinion but overall I am satisfied.

You are tripping.

41 was never getting it done for Mitchell. He's a Brownlow medallist for pete's sake.

Pick 50 is worth three quarters of eff all.

We ditched junk picks and a little sook and got a crucial cog in our continued improvement (we NEEDED a first possession getter) and a useful pick.

To get Henry, Geelong had to lose a pick 16 and add it to the pick 25.

That is how
