To me cheap is $120k and a pick in the 50s. Otherwise I’d play Ruscoe.
He has an aerial game that Ruscoe lacks. The more I think about it the more it feels like they’re trying to get him as that medium tall intercept defender we’ll need to replace Howe when he calls time.

Forward line has Johnson, Kreuger and Reef all competing to play. Kreugs has body issues, Reef needs consistency at AFL level and Johnson needs opportunity.
Thanks for basically repeating what I said about excessive competition for spots in the forward line I guess..?

If the club are looking at him as a medium intercept defender I could get on board. Feels very much like they’re trying to target a Howe replacement. The talk he might be hanging the boots up soon is starting to feel more real with this development. As a forward, I just don’t see him breaking in to the team with the already excessive competition for spots.
I would think Murphy is first in line for Howe’s spot as third tall, with Ryan. Frampton and Dean as the other tall. Noble back up for Quaynor and wingers.

Oh ...for me forward

I’d have him most likely to play down back at pies…

plenty forward depth but with Howe old, and unfortunately Murphy prone to concussion… could probably do with another cheaply acquired mid sized defensive option

But if khamis is smart he’ll go to NM and likely get upfront a longer contract, more money and more senior game time

Just get him i say

Astute recruit

Yeah if it’s between us and north, north will overpay. They just have with stephens. 4 years is ridiculous 😂

Not convinced about that. I think the club are very happy with Murphy as a key defender tbh, and they recruited Frampton because they didn’t expect him to go to another level this year. Ryan to me feels like more of a general defender, competing with Noble, IQ and now WHE for those smaller rebounding roles.
Frampton and Dean currently key position depth.

Totally. It’s pretty clear Murphy is viewed as a KPD and the likes of Dean and Frampton are depth. It’s thin, IMO. Khamis has to be a defensive option if the interest is real unless Kreuger’s gone.

Doubt Kreuger is gone - club won't delist him because they have a one-year offer in front of him and I sincerely doubt any other club is interested in him.

I keep reading there’s interest. I agree though if that’s all smoke then he stays.

I think Kreuger is likely to get an offer from elsewhere.

Someone said the crows have interest? He is from Adelaide.
I'm not shattered if he makes his way to Adelaide. He is good up front on the bench and during his limited exposure in the VFL. I swear after every contest some part of him looks like it's worse for wear. Couldn't help but feel his shoulder was hanging on by a toothpick in the latter stages of the season.

I always fear everytime he is a contest, he is gonna pull up sore.

North have to improve and given not many players are willing to move, overpaying for the best of the VFL is what they're stuck with. If Khamis comes to Collingwood, he'll have to accept playing a considerable amount of VFL next year unless he has a big improvement.

Why can I see Will Kelly being retained? I'm normally criticised for over-valuing our VFL players but I don't see it in him. We've given him a generous five years.

Ruscoe, Murley, Wilson out.

Richards delisted to be re-rookied.

Kelly, Draper, Bianco, Begg retained?

If Begg has to be elevated, maybe we'll send him on his merry way?

I reckon if we win the flag we should go full tilt at winning it again and again. I reckon we manage the retirees at 2 a year or thereabouts. I think we can work our way to adding two a year and still being good

Funny you say that

I had an original version of my post that had us shedding 3 vets a year over the next 2-3 years lol

I’d be super pumped to get Khamis

Had no idea he was on the market.

Really rate him highly.
Yeah me too. It makes sense though as Dogs are overflowing with forward marking targets. Maybe a straight swap for Ginnivan? I’m don’t want to lose him either but you have to give something to get something and we have Bobby Hill and Harrison already.
