Hes an elite KPF in the making. I actually rate him higher than the kings as he has a more rounded game.

He went at pick 1 (nga) and has only improved his value.

He would cost at least two top 10 picks. Even then dogs would dig for more
So you think we've kept Kelly as a like for like replacement to get it across the line.

They won the flag and had pick 18, under the compensation rules, they can't get a pick before their first pick, pick 19 was the best pick they could get. It kinda sucks though, to lose a quality player like that.

AFL specifically changed the rules to allow them to give higher compo if the deal merits it (ie a Buddy deal level). Not sure if they’ve done it yet but others can probably confirm if they have/haven’t, but they have the capacity to do it when apportioning compo.

Just did a bit of rough math based on the three Suns bid matches and given they'll need to use 4 picks before 33 and 6 picks before 38 to match we're likely to end up with 33->30 and 38->35 just from the three Suns academy bid matches.

Doesn't look like there are any other bid matches which will affect our current draft picks in a positive manner on draft day.

FB rumour was Ginni for Hawthorn’s future first. I’d take it.

FWIW I’m hearing schulz for our future first (hope not) and we’ll get Billings late In draft week
Dear God, no
Stop trading away our high-end picks
Bearable this year when we know what the pick is.
What happens if we lose 18 matches by a point in 2024 and end up trading pick 2-5 for Schultz?
Seriously, whether true or not, hearing this makes me so angry

Give our 2023 first, maybe a sweetener, or don’t do trade

The change in the rules was specifically made because of the inequity of Buddy’s compo. They’d likely get pick 1 under the current system.

No they wouldn't. One of the ingredients in the secret recipe is the current status of the club involved which is something the committee can factor in at their discretion. Right now the system would produce a result of pick 19 for a first round-worthy contract offer and that is probably where it would stay for the reigning premier.

There would be a massive outcry and it would be contrary to all of the equalisation provisions the league has in place to award the premiers pick 1 for a FA departure.

We will finish top 4 next season.
Great side with a great gameplan

Given how boring snoring today was, we really need something to speculate over. Friday won't have much happen given deadline week needs heat.
I agree, it was already meant to be a slow trade period, and so they are trying to space it out for the final feww days lol

Unfortunately. If I was running it, I'd have it as a three day event. First day, free agency, next two are trade. Not long after have a draft. This would turn it into a mega, televisable event and be over and done with in a timely fashion. Never happening as they'd fall out of the news cycle but there comes a point where mind numbing chit chat isn't worth it.
