Close, but Craig Williams. Oliver is a much better jockey, but has been involved in betting scandals.
I met Oliver last year at the casino. Lovely bloke. I had no idea he was at the time..lol

No they wouldn't. One of the ingredients in the secret recipe is the current status of the club involved which is something the committee can factor in at their discretion. Right now the system would produce a result of pick 19 for a first round-worthy contract offer and that is probably where it would stay for the reigning premier.

There would be a massive outcry and it would be contrary to all of the equalisation provisions the league has in place to award the premiers pick 1 for a FA departure.

You may like to read this. Pay very particular attention to the last little bit.

Pick 18-19 for a 9 year $10m deal is the poster boy for a materially anomalous result. I’ll leave it there.

hahaha, named sounded familar but thats all I had. I may have worked at the valley, but never took much notice of jockeys in the racing industry lol

It's just the way negotiations go.

The win win negotiators knock them over quickly in the first few days. Whereas guys like Mackie and Dodoro take them to the brink as they try to win every deal.
I'm somewhat surprised (disappointed) all the recruiters (bar 2) don't agree to meet at another secret location, leaving Doddo and Hackie at Marvel stadium to do Ess/Gee and Gee/Ess-only deals trying to one-up each other!

AFL specifically changed the rules to allow them to give higher compo if the deal merits it (ie a Buddy deal level). Not sure if they’ve done it yet but others can probably confirm if they have/haven’t, but they have the capacity to do it when apportioning compo.
I'm not sure if they have changed the rules, from what i understand, they haven't but how the hell is Buddt Franklin worth pick 19 and McKay worth pick 3, it's crazy.

Apparently having a sniff around Dougal Howard but he’s on bigger coin than he should be.
I remember that we were looking at him the year the Saints grabbed him. Pulled out of the race when we heard crazy Gubby was throwing a $600k contract at him.

I'm fully aware of the current guidelines the committee operates under, including that vague discretionary power to "review" the outcome of any FA compensation produced by the formula and have been since that info was released.

You're still drawing a long bow to claim that Buddy leaving the premiers now would get them pick 1 automatically because it's not the case, indeed FA compo designed to benefit struggling clubs that lose their good players more. With specific reference to the Buddy situation it would more likely be a case of "suck it up you just won the flag we're not giving the team that just won the GF pick 1 over teams struggling down the bottom of the ladder".

Looks like this is from the AFL trade rumours page, they always put dumb backgrounds and the wrong bodies on everyone. This is the one they put up yesterday...

Also, everything they post is bullshit.
Even Hawthorn reckon he needs a rocket?

What, how do we have to give up more than pick 19. That’s more then enough.
It should be but he’s contracted and Bell’s secret last name is End.
