IMO, a premiership masks nothing. They won it because they were damn good that season. With an ounce of luck (one of Petty or Melksham not going down or Brayshaw not getting knocked out) they probably roll us in the QF. To do that with all this shit in the background says they’re in a good enough spot to me to be thereabouts. Now that we’ve seen all this stuff bubbling to the surface though my feel is they needed to cut the cord on Goodwin.

How about picking up someone like Rhys Mathieson for peanuts. He could be a good depth player

I would pay extra $$ on my membership to not have Mathieson play for my team

I also don’t really want Bailey Smith but my feelings aren’t as strong as paying up for that one

I thought we outplayed them convincingly anyway. Just went too defensive too early so let them back into the game.

Yeah, I think a defensive mid is what we need. Mitchell playing his role and Jordy and Nick attacking is our short and medium term future. Need someone at the back of the pack smothering quick breaks from stoppage - Pendles can't do it forever.
 
I think Bailey Smith is literally perfect for us. Him and Daicos in the midfield for the next 10 years. I think we still need a Taylor Adams/Libba type.

But with out a 1st and one 2nd next year I am not sure we have enough draft capital to get it done.

There is also the need for a key forward, Mihocek is getting older although we do have great smalls. The key forward is a worry for the future. Especially if we give up 2025 1st for Smith.

One genuine KPF with an allrounder who isn't just mark and kick seems to be the way to go at the moment. Hopefully McStay can hold down the genuine one for a fair while. Will AJ, Kreuger or Reef be able to take over from Checkers when he declines?

My point is that we’re told that drugs are closely monitored, only a handful are caught be we almost know for certain more are using.

In the instance of the cap, we’re told it’s “closely” monitored, some are caught, although reports indicate more are doing it.

Do you not think that the accountants at AFL clubs have work arounds to auditing and monitoring? There’s a whole Port board dedicated to their creating accounting and I suggest you read it before roasting me.

Cheating the cap is common in world sport and there’s no reason why it doesn’t extend to the AFL.

They should probably cut the cord on a few of their other actors. Eg. Fix their board, cut Oliver and a few other problem players.
