I don’t mind Holmes, and I reckon he’ll be a quality player if he isn’t already.

Didn’t like how he turned up his toes for a lot of games this year, when the going got tough. Especially when the Cats were crying for a spark in the midfield. Hence why we saw Stewart in there at times.

Maybe he was carrying something?

I’m saying that, I’ll happily wrap my arms around him if he decides to come to us.

He’ll be a close watch for me this year.

You’re confusing your saints with disciples. Apostles even! Get it right, or Kevin will leave a lump of coal in your stocking…
It could be worse....

I want Holmes not Smith. Smith had reg flags already and now an unfortunate ACL injury

Holmes is the player we would have drafted had Fly been coach at the time.

St Kilda is an actual place - it's in the middle of nowhere, which somehow seems appropriate.

No trees?

All chopped down to make spoons?

Don't need Holmes. Got DeGoey Mitch, Nick, Macrae, Edward.

Smokies like Sullivan, Long and a couple of others.

Baz will be 24 at the start of 2025. A fastidious preparer who rarely misses games. Probably another 150+ games up his sleeve. I'd say that is definitely worth a first rounder.

We need Connors to get the deal done!
He's worth a heap more than a first rounder from a good team

We'll need to future plan for our midfield. Mitchell, Pendlebury, Sidebottom won't go on for much longer. Daicos x2 and De Goey is an excellent core but they'll need support. Holmes would be an excellent target. I'm hopeful for Macrae and Allan but there are no guarantees there.

Smith in the right system under the right coaching staff could be a top 10 talent in the league (midfielders)

Holmes won't ever get to that.

The risk is worth the reward.

I don’t see Smith getting to top 10 mids, I think Holmes will have a better career from this point forward and I think he fits our system better, personally

Spare me the sanctimonious faux outrage.

It’s not like anyone, myself included, have had a voodoo doll out wishing for him to get hurt. Or are glad from an individual perspective that it has happened.

The facts are that it has happened, serious injuries often impact contracts and trade values, and we are a club that has been consistently linked to him.

If that’s not worthy of discussing in the trade thread, then what is.
Bit touchy?
Maybe a tad aggressive because you absolutely know your comments are rubbish!!!
All good that you want to behave that way and say what you want in this thread.

The fact that you decided to respond says otherwise.

Rusty B's response ok in my opinion.
Nothing at all wrong with what he is saying. Not aggressive at all.

lol.
Except for the opening line which indicates I’m fake and pretending to care…
But yeah, apart from crap post to begin with and then taking the time to go me…. Nothing wrong at all!!!

How about he say nothing or own the crap post? Let’s start with that.

I think most of the mids learnt a lot with Selwoods departure. He left a massive hole in terms of leadership and intent. Not easily replaced. He’ll get better.

Oh I see, so it’s not even faux outage?

The fact that your initial post implied that people, myself included, are that inherently ill willed, without any proof positive, says more about you in my opinion.
