Moving on from North …

… would GWS be incentivised to bid on Daicos at pick 2 to help their later pick position? For example, GWS are currently holding pick 53. The earlier Daicos and Darcy are called out, the better that pick 53 becomes. Best case for GWS they call out Darcy at 2 and Daicos at 3, and their pick 53 would become a pick around 45. If Daicos and Darcy go later, then their pick 53 might be closer to pick 49 or 48.
I think they will pick who they genuinely want and have ranked higher for their needs. Either way they will know Darcy and Daics will be called top 5 and everyone's picks will move up.

I wouldn’t risk going into deficit. Because if we do we create an incentive for other clubs to punish us by bidding on Daicos ASAP (To potentially improve their 2022 first round pick position).

True. What if we find the extra 60 points (a late pick back or Lynch trade) and the only team then that can match is North? They seem firmly commited to Horne-Francis.

Am I the only one who think Bobby Hill is one of the more over rated players in the AFL? I realise I probably am, but more than happy to give that one a miss
14 goals for 17 games doesn't scream the quality people are making out. But he is young, talented and can kick a screamer for sure.

If you're right, that's good news for us and means that the rule is slightly different than its usually told. Eg. In our context, we can in reality take more picks into the draft than the number of list spots we have, the list spots is just about the number of picks we can use on a Daicos bid.
I think I have got it right.. Happy to be corrected an educated, but otherwise, we will see what happens in late November.
That is the reason we ask for and get picks 78 and 79 in trades. Otherwise, just forgo them….

I love the intimate knowledge of our cap space some people have

You realise everyone knew months out that our salary cap was ****ed in 2020 right? These things are not well kept secrets, everyone knows our salary cap is still bursting which is why the only players we’re bringing in are two guys stuck in the vfl.

Well our salary cap is completely full and I doubt he’s moving state for minimum wage.

I agree it seems that way. But surely we try and move on someone like WHE.

Have any of our playing list heard of taking a pay cut? Supposedly like the one some Carlton players have taken?

I think we'd have enough space for some moderate moves like Hill. We cut deep last year. Krueger and Lipinski are likely cancelled out by Mayne and Greenwood. I doubt that's a road block.

If the dogs have offer Lipinski 3 years they must really value him and are desperate to keep him. to keep him
Does anyone know what that 3 year contract is worth?
Maybe 3 years at a base of $130k, and $8,666 per senior match??
And with their midfield, there are not many games he will be selected for senior games????
So how much do they value him??? All sounds good saying “we value him by offering him a 3 year contract “..

Which big money players are changing teams? So far it's literally just been Cerra. It's not as if big money players are being exchanged a lot this season, so I would like to know how you're gauging our cap to be bursting.

Once upon a time, we also said;
Shaw > Adams

And for the first three years that was indeed true. Considering Heater's entire tenure at GWS the trade was probably a push at best based on the impact the two players have had at their clubs, maybe slightly in GWS' favour when you factor in the context of needing to take that next step at the time and the role Heater played in them doing that.
